How differently is your libido at say mid fifties to say early thirties ?

Does viagra actually reduce your libido - whilst physically helping your stiffness ?

I'm 51 and I think my libido is undiminished - I still spend far too long every day (every hour, every minute!) thinking about sex. I have noticed I don't tend to get morning erections as often as I did but they seem to work when I do. I have tried Viagra and Cialis (prefer the latter) when I need some extra pep. I think I have moved away from the entirely physical to more relaxed time where I seek out FBSM for my extracurriculars and have FS with Mrs Lurcio when she is in the mood (once a month ish).

Early 30s erections happening all the time just thinking about sex or seeing a sexy girl or photograph, during sex, a rock hard erection until the first climax how ever long foreplay took, then 3 orgasms in about 90 minutes, driven by the need to have orgasms at least every 3 days. Mid 50's 1 orgasm a session, erection needs help, does not remain hard unless given attention, much less hard when erect, smaller in size, not driven at all by the body to have sex, ie pretty much zero libido, all in the mind. I have sex now because I love women not because my cock demands it.

It really depends on the individual and there are many factors that play a part but mainly it is the diminishing levels of testosterone as this influences not only sex-drive but mood, energy levels, alertness and therefore self-confidence. Other factors that reduce libido include depression, anxiety and stress.

I don't use it myself (yet) but I have never heard of Viagra lowering libido. It only helps to sustain your erection.

All things considered, you're cetainly not the same man in your fifties as you were in your thirties.

Yes I don't think using viagra has in any way lowered my libido.

I don't think it is age so much as all the bl**dy pills the doctors keep throwing at us to keep our blood pressure down, manage our Cholesterol levels and keep us stress free.

Since I retired on health grounds and started on all the pills my libido has almost collapsed.

My libido ( as opposed to performance ) is as strong as ever. At this rate, I have little doubt that when I get old I will become one of those disgusting pervy 70-80 yos who according to Lindilala ,continue to appreciate the sexual attractivness of young ladies ! However, I am confident that such appreciation will extend to all age groups.! Sex and thinking about sex keeps you up there. Please god my main concern wont be my golf handicap whenever I retire !!

reduced libido can be due to lowered testosterone levels. simple blood test, ask your GP

really common in older (Like over 45) men but rarely tested for.

Google hypogonadism.

I'm nearly 60. Libido is just as strong (ie permanent) but makes itself felt differently. When I was young I got stiffies all the time, and half of the interest in sex seemed to be just getting rid of them. Now my moment-to-moment sensations in the course of the day are just as suffused with an erotic awareness of women, but in itself that awareness doesn't produce an erection and can be savoured more quietly - and, I think, more enjoyably (because it is savoured). I think I'm more conscious now of a kind of generic gender-awareness: sight of bum and upper leg automatically produces a pleasant sense of the possibility of that area being prised open, rather than 'phwoooarr'. Likewise beasts induce a reflection on the suckability of nipples. All in all, an improvement.

Drug-enhancement when I get down to business means I have no worries. About five years ago I found that my erections no longer survived, for example, withdrawing to change position. I wasn't aware these pills could reduce libido. And I notice someone else mentioned all the other things some of us are taking now - like blood-pressure drugs. Does anyone have any hard, so to speak, information on whether they have an effect?

I obviously don't use Viagra but I do suffer from its effects

I can usually tell when a chap has had some sort of help, and a healthy libido is one of the signs (albeit temporary).

If it isn't an increase in natural libido then it must be a wish to use "it" as much as possible whilst it's there for the using.

Is it Libido or is it happy willy syndrome !

Lol I know what you mean. The first time I played with someone who used viagra I didn't know. They came quite quickly and I was a bit disappointed until I realised he was still up for action. I scratched my head for a moment wondering how he was still hard and then the penny dropped. I ended up having to ask him to stop lol. That was ages ago though, before I started working.

I'm told it can give you a blaster of a headache guys, not a good idea to take it ;)

When young, I used to find I got an erection on the bus, and just about everywhere else. Now I rarely wake up with an erection, but still as libidinous as ever. I use the blue pills, but can manage without, they are like reading glasses, something that will come to most of us by a certain age. Not much point in a man visiting a doctor, he or she will only tell you, "its normal for someone of your age ". No matter what the symptom. Of course if you are female, its, "just slip off your top".

Mine put it as having effects of that kind on 1 in a 100. I seem to be in the 99.

Very nicely put.

Our early morning experiences are different though. The 6.00 am stiffy is one of the few constants that has carried over from my teens.
