Viagra Users (Advice Please)

21 posts in this topic

I know there are loads of posts about Viagra and I have looked through them but can't find an answer to this particular question.

When you first start taking Viagra, is it's effectivness a guide as to how it will work in the long term or do you have to use it for a while?

I've been prescribed Viagra 50 mg,taken two tabs, one about 6 hours after the first and they don't seem to make any difference,am I one of the unlucky people they don't work for or should I see if 100mg will work better.

My advice would be go to go back to your doctor and have a chat with him about it, he is the one looking after your health and knows your history. I have many clients who use different doses of viagra and it works ok for them but others who use kamagra jelly think that works better, but everyone is different.

The important thing is not to self medicate.

That's a lot of Viagra. You are taking 100 mg, I take half a 25 mg tab -so that's 12.5 mg. It should work within half an hour or so but as many posters have said the effectiveness varies a lot on whether you are taking it on an empty or a full stomach ( empty is much more effective ) also high fat content in your stomach reduces effectiveness. Other punters have also remarked that Cialis and Levitra can be prescribed instead of Viagra and some people have a lot more success with these 2 brands.

The male response to Viagra does seem to vary a great deal. Personally I did not find it effective so was prescribed Cialis. I found this effective with no side effects like a stuffy nose and I often had erections 24 hours later.

That said I also tried the 5mg a day Cialis and it simply didn't work.

I've had similar failures with Kamaga and some of the other generic ED drugs.

I cannot wait for the new ED creams currently under development which can be applied directly to the penis and work immediately. No more pre planning sex.

I cut 100mg tablets into three.

I find take one piece an hour before I expect to be in the sack very effective and the effects last about 2 to three hours. So delays to a meeting are not a problem.

As yet I don't have a real errectile problem without kamraga but it does avoid droop during the position changes or if the meeting is not quite as enthralling as planned

Thanks all for your helpful replies.

*Charlotte*,it is an ongoing process with my doctor and (she) couldn't be more helpful,so that's encouraging in itself.

Thanks *Water* that's very interesting about a high fat content in the stomach, hands up to that one!

*Bill* Didn't know about the creams, sounds great.

Thanks Eager and Aka too.

I don't eat for 6 hours prior, drink water and keep calm about performance. I take 50mg 90 minutes before a meet and I don't have to worry about a ED attack any more. Might even think about a longer punt and to do it all over again. Well while not! Could work well with a three some, which after I would go and buy a very large Cigar afterwards and will lord it like Jimmy Saville!

One other thing. Don't eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice whilst taking viagra/sildenafil. One of the constituents in grapefruit prevents the absorption of certain chemicals, including sildenafil.

It sounds like an urban myth but there are plenty of references on the net if you google it, including:

I agree.

This is not the place to ask for this type of advice.

GO BACK TO YOUR DOCTOR.

Then call me ;)

It's a minefield.

I love orange juice and it seem some types of that might not be particularly helpful either.

I meant to ask,is this routine something that has evolved through trial and error or is that how you started off?

I read on other forums ( I think Pfizer had one) what other guys were doing and my first try, I did it by the book and took it 60 minutes before my meet. I found it just to be a little late so pushed it to 90 minutes before which works well for me as I know it's waiting to be unleashed and I can focus on the WG rather than worrying about my performance which has always been with me since a little accident when I was 18 and had a torison to a testicle:eek:;):( (though I have sired two great kids with the ex Mrs LLP!)

Thats me though - but you should run it past your GP. I did not as the waiting time to see my GP was too long so I used an online GP to review me and he agreed to issue 50mg of Viagra which I am greatfull and also I love Pfizer for developing Sildenafil. :D

And of course best of all I love WG'S :)

I don't really have erection problems but sometimes during a punt, it'll start going soft between positions or if I get nervous about it happening or anything like that so wouldn't mind trying viagra or something similar just so I'm as hard as possible for the duration of the meet but I don't know how to get hold of it. I'd be wary of getting it from some dodgy website since it is pills after all. Does anyone know the best way of getting it?

I have exactly the same problem as you - basically nervousness rather than any physical disability. Go and see your GP - he or she will give you a private prescription - you have to pay for the prescription- about £27 but cheaper and safer than some dodgy website.

Is there the danger with viagra and similar medication that you can become reliant on it and unable to obtain an erection without using it? Because right now I'm still young and can get a hard on at will so wouldn't want to jeopordize that for the sake of being a bit harder during a punt.

As you age, the way you are changes, When I was younger in my early 20's I worked very hard and did not make much time with women. A few late evening at work found me in bed with a work employee now and again.

Now I am in my 40's and I meet with women my own age, I don't get too excited (sorry to those 40+ girles reading this). But now I see WG's in there mid 20's you would think I had rabies :P.

As a WG said a few weeks ago older men love younger women... and there is some truth in that, but's it unlikley now a drop dead beautie in her mid 20's would want to have a relationship with? I expect when I am in my 50's I will be chasing 30y.o's!!

Hoping my 50mg of Viagra lasts tonight as I have my first all nighter with what seems a very open minded 23y.o :) I think my mouth is starting to foam already!:o

The overriding message must be - go see a doctor. Once you have the dosage right and you have no/minimal side effects then perhaps self-medication is permissible.

But first see your GP - you won't be the first with ED that he has met.

When I told my doctor that Viagra was too expensive, he recommended a web site that sells Kamagra. I couldn't believe it. "Well," he said, "It's just the same stuff with a different label"! :D

I recommend caution, however. Only order from London based web sites, and check their feeback on forums etc.

Perhaps try a Google for 'Kamagra London'

johnnygall, I'm rather late to this, but one thing to bear in mind is that Viagra (and all the rest of them) only begin to take effect when you start to become sexually aroused, i.e. it's not a case of taking a dose and then getting a hard-on 60 minutes later when you're walking through Tesco thinking about what to have for dinner!

Like many Type 2 Diabetics, I have it on prescription, and have had for several years now. Its effectiveness has waned slightly over the years, probably due to more diabetes developments (or the other bloody pills I take!), but the routine is: take my 100mg tablet about an hour before meet with wg. Erection does not suddenly spring into life 50 mins ater - it begins after I've started the meet and have become sexually aroused by her, and usually stays sufficiently in place for full enjoyment thereafter (although a cock-ring often gives additional support as well!)

If no wg plans, or if wg cancels after you've taken the tablet (it happens, and can be a waste of a precious tablet!), try sitting down in front of a decent porn video and testing out the advice! Sorry if you've already done all of the above, but from the OP, I wasn't too sure if you had. Anyway, might be of use to others...
