STI Problem

24 posts in this topic

I have to go to the Sexual Health clinic tomorrow because after endless online research I have self-diagnosed myself with either Trichomoniasis or Vaginitis. OR (worst case scenario) Gonorrhea. If it is the last one, or the first one, chances are my partner also has it now so I will need to tell him to get checked and then he will break up with me which will mean I will be homeless and my life as I know it will be over.

I just hope that whatever it is it's easily cured.

I definitely caught this from my job. I have never done bareback or anything other than OWO, fingering and RO.

SO Just a reminder to all of you WG's it really is not cool to have a partner while you are in this profession. I am leaving the industry. I feel disgusting and I have risked everything for some ££££.

It is possible to catch things even through 'safe' sex.

If I somehow manage to get out of this without my partner finding out or having caught anything then I have some serious making it up with God to do.

So just a reminder I guess to everyone that this busininess is not without it's downsides. Anyone else caught anything lately??

If I mooched around the medical dictionaries, I'm sure I could convince myself that I had everything from the common cold to Krohns to Leukaemia. Wait until you visit the clinic. It's probably just BV from washing too often.

However. You are an adult and you made the decision to enter this line of work. We are all very much aware of the possible consequences. I assume that you also made the decision to keep your partner in the dark? Otherwise, why would there be a problem?

Whilst I feel for you, I do think you should have considered all of this in the first place. If you feel disgusting, then you shouldn't be doing this anyway.

I understand your worry but don't panic "just yet" it might be something simple like BV (bacterial vaginosis) this is fairly common with wg's as the ph in the vagina can become unbalanced due to condoms, perfumed soaps etc. You partner can't catch this and it's not an sti .

Hunny you do know in this profession about men and how they look outside relationships for sex etc.....yanno it might not even be something that YOU have picked up! I echo the sentiment of the other girls, my money is on a ph imbalance from condoms and over washing.

I agree with all comments from the girls above, but please post if its not STD after your visit to the clinic. (which I am convinced will be the case!).

As for: If it is the last one, or the first one, chances are my partner also has it now so I will need to tell him to get checked and then he will break up with me which will mean I will be homeless and my life as I know it will be over.

If you really think that (even if you are wrong in your opinion about your partner), then maybe you should part anyway.

I honestly think you should go to the clinic and get yourself checked before disclosing anything to your boyfriend! If its not an STD you dont have to tell him.

This is the second post I have read today where the partner does not know. I really don't know how you can get away with it, the risks are very high i.e. been seen or even worse still booked by someone he knows etc. Moving on to your perceived infection I hope it's not serious or a sti please do post on what it turns out to be. I have to agree with the other posts on here you did know what you were doing and the risks it entails.

You're quite sure about this? How? You don't indulge in bareback sex, owo etc with your partner?

I know it's easier said than done but try and remain calm until you have the results.

One more thing...

The income from escorting is pretty good [understatement of the year there]. Did you not put something away for the future? It might have cut out the extra weight you are carrying on your shoulders about becoming homeless

I saw that you wrote in an earlier post 'I am also now in a new relationship with someone who knows I am a WG.' so surely he must be aware that this also comes with a risk and why would he throw you out if this is the case?

I completely agree that it is more likely to be BV, too much washing or using of baby wipes.

I honestly think you should go to the clinic and get yourself checked before disclosing anything to your boyfriend!

I absolutely endorse this advice. At the moment, you are clearly worrying yourself sick, quite possibly over nothing. Get down to a GUM clinic ASAP and see what they say.

Something to consider might be going to a private clinic where the results can be given more quickly. My NHS clinic takes 4 days to text you the results but from what I hear, some can take up to 2 weeks. You need to know NOW and it might well be worth a few quid for your peace of mind.

Finally, do not let it get you down or feel that you are in some way "disgusting". I know something of how you feel as on my very first GUM visit after I had started punting, I was advised that I had an infection which was "probably Chlamydia, but might be NSU". This was based on a preliminary urine dip and needed to be confirmed by the lab tests, which would take the aforementioned 4 days. On the strength of the urine dip, I was prescribed a monster antibiotic tablet and told to immediately "inform all my sexual partners from the past 30 days" :D.

I too felt pretty low at the time as I had only seen a few girls and whilst I had received OWO a few times, I had certainly not had bb sex with anyone for donkeys years. Talk about unlucky !!!

This latter advice about contacting partners preyed on my mind significantly as well as the much bigger worry of what/whether to tell the wife (and all that would then entail). I opted to inform the two escorts I had seen as I felt it was the only fair thing to do. They both took the news in reasonably good form and seemed to regard the possibility of an STI as an occupational hazard. Both then arranged to take a few days off work and went and got themselves tested. I felt bloody awful about the whole thing tbh.

Imagine my mixture of emotions when, 4 days later, the promised text arrived from the GUM clinic announcing "Results Clear, no need to contact us" :P!! Of course, I did contact them to ask WTF was going on and they claimed that the initial advice was precautionary only and that occasionally false positives were obtained from the on the spot test. Imagine my sheepish calls to the two escorts that followed :D. It is to their great credit that they both saw the humour in the situation and I am still very friendly with both to this day, one of whom is still a regular.

Of course, I never had to tell my wife anything as it turned out there was nothing to tell. The whole event though brought it home to me early in my punting career what kind of risks I was running and I can safely say that I have weighed it all up in my mind and am happy to continue. Fortunately, the 6 or so regular GUM check ups I have had since that first one have all come back as "Clear" as well.

The moral of the story is that you need the facts before you can properly decide what the right course of action is.

Best of luck.

The reason for the delay in results is for bateria to grow in the lab, ensuring a clear result.

I admire the fact you contacted the escorts concerned Nrthwinds, I'm really curious as to why you told them but not your wife first though? It must have been such an awful time for you and I'm glad you ended up with the all clear, but how you didn't nearly have a heart attack I don't know.

As for us ladies well we are used to being tested all the time and that niggle of fear never really goes away to be honest, it's sooooooo important to establish a good realationship with the clinics we use and use the outreach/health advocates to the max. A wg should never have to wait longer than 24 hours for an appointment and if you tell them your a wg they WILL fast track you.

Thanks Charlotte. I admit to being extremely nervous about contacting the girls, especially as I was new to the hobby and had no real idea if there was an etiquette/code of conduct about this or not (yeah right :P!!). It didn't take me long to think it through though. If I was in their shoes, I would have wanted to know, so I simply girded my loins and picked up the phone.

I didn't inform my wife as we use condoms for our contraception of choice and oral sex (either way) is something that she disapproves of strongly and never features in our sex life. I was pretty sure that the chances of passing anything on to her were very, very low and hence wanted to see how things played out. Both of the escorts I mentioned offered very active, lengthy sessions of OWO and hence I thought the transmission risks were higher.

All's well that ended well. My heart rate was quite a bit higher than usual for quite a while though :D.

Thank you Northwinds I appreciate your honesty, I hope there are lots guys like you out there that brave enough to face these situations.

I have never had a call like that but I'm certain I would thank the person for letting me know. then get myself down the clinic asap. I wonder what the reaction would be if an escort contacted her clients and said " I might have an infection go and get a check up"

Scary thought!

That sounds so horrible when I say it in my head Helen, the word "Bareback" makes my skin crawl not something I associate with making love or having sex with a partner tbh.

Maybe, but it may be why the OP has an STD.(If she does have one) She may not have caught it from a client or in connection with her work. Before she allows the sky to fall in on her she should be asking questions instead of blaming herself.

Bareback may not be a romantic phrase but why restrict it to the escort/client senario. It belongs to everyone.

Unless you live in the sticks. My GUM appointments have to be carefully planned since they only hold the clinic for one afternoon-thro-evening each week. If I did have an emergency I would travel to a better served area.

Actually I do too Ruth, I travel 20 miles to mine but hey it's worth it and they are as good as gold. We also don't have a 24hr A & E it shuts at 5pm or something so again I've got a 40 mile round trip in an emergency, scary or what!

Mine is close by, as is a very good A&E they are always trying to shut down:mad:

It's just so limited, so if I wanted an appointment at short notice it would be either a 50, or 80 mile round trip. Not sure where the nearest private clinic is, but I'm guessing Preston. I do have links to the Newcastle area now, so always have that option too - but that's a 2 hour plus journey each way!!!!:P

You are left wondering just what they are doing. NSU is the dustbin diagnosis when the clinic finds (a) discharge and/or (:D pus cells on microscope exam of the swab but when the can't identify a specific pathogen such as gonorrhoea or Chlamydia. It (NSU) is caused by a rag-bag of different bacteria, possibly viruses, that can't be reliably grown in the lab (if they could it wouldn't be 'non-specific'). So no lab result that they got a Day 4 could refute an original diagnosis based on clinical observations at Day 0.... Whether or not you should be asked to contact partners in the case of NSU, is very dubious.... for what is the clinic to look for in those partners?

Your lucky. My clinic is "no news is good news" which basically means "we will tell you next time your in. Otherwise we wont"

Although swab tests results are straight away some of them will take longer to get results.

And you do have to take the obligotry "Giving a girl oral does have risks" speech.

Id prefer a simple "yes, your all clear, bang away".

you can not catch STD in your vagina from OWO or RO you can get STD in the throat from an infection carried by a guy but it doesnt travel down to your front bottom.

i agree with the girls if you have an STD in your vagina and you have been using condoms with clients with regards sex then its your boyfriend who has given it to you.
