A casualty of the internet success?

I see the Sport Media Group, owners of the Daily & Sunday Sport, have issued a profit warning

Do many still advertise there? It must be 10 years since I bought it to find enthrallment when off my usual territory.

I'd bet many hard copy porn empires have crumbled due to the internet. Those with the far sightedness to see what the internet could become have built virtual empires. Swings and roundabouts isn't it. I expect there will always be someone willing and able to take the "blue pound" in any media form.

The vast majority of paid for papers have struggled with the shift from print to online advertising. I remember buying the Sport in my late teens and it seemed very risque in its day. Ultimately its type of content and advertising were made for the web hence its massive circulation decline in the last few years. Maybe owner David Sullivan should stick to property and football...

I dont know about the Sport but i have had six publications call this week offering advertising ,the last one today started at £100 for four weeks then it went down to£35 for 4 weeks plus 3 months on line ads included !! I turned this one down because he forgot to put his phone on secret while talking to his colleagues !!!

I'm absolutly certain paper advertising still works and works well. For one thing there isnt the competition a google search would bring and probably most importantly there are millions of men who don't or dare not use a computer to browse for providers! Porn on the other hand is absolutly free if you look in the right places and spattered all over the net. Its hard to avoid. Saying that again there are millions of men............maybe a balance will form. "Furtive" porn men can take into their private place, or the "open" porn they can hump the leg of the desk in work to.

I think this man explains it better.
