Quick Follow Up Regarding Amelia In Reading

21 posts in this topic

Hi folks,

I enjoyed popping back in today and seeing the amusing chain of comments in reply to my "conned off in reading" thread.

A couple of follow up comments:

The user was indeed X_Amelia_X. I've been wanting to see her for a long time. I'd emailed her a couple of times and got a call from her out of the blue on Monday. I thought I had hit the jackpot as I have a thing for redheads and petite girls. She hits the mark on both! I am not sure if the con is her normal routine.

Anyhow, I reported it to the admins of the OTHER site before I even got home, via my lovely Android phone. And awesomely enough, by the time I got home they had replied basically saying there was nothing they could do to help, which I expected. But what I did not expect was that killed her profile. So in the long run, I felt rather good that I'd at least helped other's from avoiding the same fate. Of course she'll likely just create a new profile.

I have seen escorts for a while and should know better. In fact, I've see girls in Reading in the hotels. The cost is for an incall. Before I've always met in the hotel room, so I should have known better!

And there's no way I'll be reporting this to the police. Well, I might anonymously report it, just to make them aware. But the fact is, I don't want this on my record and I am certain nothing would come of it. She was fairly skilled with the con, so she probably was using a throwaway phone number.

Thanks again for the remarks. It was entertaining reading... ;)

Well, if she pops up again in a different guise and you recognise her, do let us know!

She's just contacted me asking if I want to see her!

I sooo want to con her, I know that's childish but she deserves it....but how?

I do think young Amelia will be responding to this thread very soon.

What makes you think that?

I've heard back from her as well and offered her the chance to make things right. Nothing final there. Having thought through the chain of events a few times, I feel there's a good chance she simply made an error in judgement. If she makes this right, then I will of course let everyone know that.

It takes more courage to make a mistake, and then make it right, then to never make a mistake at all! :)

I had a lengthy conversation with her today. She sounded gutted that it's all gone Pete Tong considering she had 16 really good ratings. I have suggested what she needs to do and I guess it's up to her now.

Having a petite red head just a stones through away and quite frisky is perfect for me and I usually give people (other than Goverment ministers) a 2nd chance.

Just have to wait it out I guess.

Error of judgement?

She did a runner with your £180! I wouldn't hold my breath that you get your money back.

Yes, she thought it was £200.

I'm quite confused here. We are told this forum is too soft towards the ladies, one blatantly runs off with a client's cash, but it's ok because he forgives her.

Better be a good explaination.

She did have a lot of good ratings, which is one of the reasons I was thinking this is was maybe a bad call by someone that doesn't normally do things this way.

I believe in second chances as well and have made more than my fair share of my mistakes. Money is just money. But settling this would make me feel a lot better as well.

Amelia, if you are reading, please give me a ring and lets work this out.

There is a difference between blind forgiveness and giving someone the opportunity to make something right after a mistake (granted a big one) was made.

Made a booking with her after she contacted me. For 2pm today. She said she'll send me details at noon. I've tried phoning and texting, her phone is off so guess what. I'm on here complaining about it lol

Why would you want to book a scam-artist who rips a guy off for £180?

Is it a fetish or something? You give her £180 and she runs off.

It takes all sorts I suppose. I do hope that the concept doesn't take off.

Just a minute, it's an ill wind and all that, I could offer my delivery services here and save the guy travelling expenses by making an arrangement with the lady to deliver his money, for a small commission of course.

Since the OP has posted on no other subjects whatsoever and this entire story is getting more and more fairy-tale like by the second, I am inclined to believe this may actually be some kind of 'backwards marketing' ploy. Therefore I am giving this thread a rest.

Edited to add:

I have had communication from the gentleman concerned which has satisfied me that he is genuine*, and so this thread is now open for business again. Fill yer boots!

*Daft, but genuine.

Thank you for clarifying this, Claire. Let me clear up a few additional things.

First, if my original reaction seemed a bit odd, using words excellent to describe the con, please understand I'd just been victim to a criminal act and was trying to have the best perspective possible. I'd learned a valuable lesson about getting suckered by a beautiful girl.

I hope that next time I might act as little wiser.

Second, I of course believe what happened was wrong and not at all justifiable. However I know people make mistakes, hence my willingness to work things out with Amelia, if she is interested. I've made some bad choices myself that I wish I could undo.

Anyhow, that's that for now. No updates, btw....

Cheers, Paul

But, twyliteeros, yes – you really are daft! People often perform spontaneous but nevertheless criminal acts, be it walking out of a shop without paying or taking, say, a purse left on a counter, but Amelia’s act was planned and deliberate. She intended to rob you from the outset.

But beyond that, her crime differs from those I’ve described in that her £180 was safe – an hour on her back and she would have got it anyway! This was no error of judgement – she’s just miffed now that her crime has received so much publicity. Talk about your willy ruling over your brain!!

Ok, you miss the point.

I mean that hopefully next time anyone tries to con me I'll be a bit wiser.

I've set up a special helpline that dispenses advice for the gullible. Calls cost £50 per minute.
