You will find both fora and forums in most dictionaries, but forums is regarded as the better alternative by English usage experts and fora by pedants.

As you say, it should be fora - the same principle as memorandum and memoranda.

It's been a long time since I last looked at my "Shorter Latin Primer" but I think that fora is the nominative plural .

I guess that makes me a pedant as well.

Surely you are aware that pedants rule OK (or more accurately exhibit certain of the trappings of what is traditionally referred to as leadership). ;)

Because the lingua franca of the forum is English not Latin.
