Recession Prices

Due to the recession is it about time you girls dropped your prices by £20 an half hour to say £30/40.

Why should they?If trade is ok at current prices, then why would anyone do that?

Girls are complaining of not having much work at the moment so i thought it made sense. I cannot afford to punt as much as i used to due to lack of work at the moment. I have found a few that have lowered their prices and when i have spoken to them they have kindly told me they have virtually no customers as we approach the Christmas period. I was only making a suggestion by the way.

I've been quiet this week because of the snow, and over the Summer I went through a quiet patch because I was very limited to the days/times I could work. Nothing to do with my rates.

I would rather work less and earn less than give my services for less than I feel they are worth. Plus not all escorts WANT to be busy, a lot of ladies, particularly the higher priced ones, only see a few clients a week.

The Christmas period tends to be busy though? For me anyway. Snow on the other hand, kills the phone a bit if it's harder for people to get to you.

It all depends upon the girl's situation. Many don't mind the quiet spell, since other times can be very busy and it's a chance to take a break, have a holiday, spend time with family. Some save the reductions for a January sale. It's all dependent on what you want, or need from the work.

Contrary to popular belief not all of us need to cram in as many clients as we can, and make hundreds of thousands of pounds a year(the physical and emotional effects of which could be quite severe). Some of us are happy with a decent standard of living, good income and seeing a couple of clients a day(if that), whilst maintaining sanity, discretion and a high level of service.

Right at the start of the recession I was asked why I wasn't reducing my prices. That was because at the time I could not take on any more clients, in fact I was turning more away than anything - so to reduce my fees would not have solved anything!

Yes there are quiet times, but if you do well during the busy times often it's a good opportunity to relax a little.

At the moment the weather is affecting a lot of ladies, reducing prices won't bring chaps calling if they can't get to you - and to incentivise travel in dangerous conditions is not ethical.

i always pay a good price for a good woman. i enjoy it so i dont mind paying. These ladies could double their prices and we would still pay.

Do people get as horny this time of year as in summer? It's bloody freezing where I am, and the last thing I would want to do is go out if I don't have to. Perhaps an outcall would be enjoyable, but I wouldn't have thought it would be overly enjoyable for the escort trying to get through the snow at present.

There are few things to my mind that can be better than coming in out of the freezing cold to lay icy hands on a pert pair of breasts and see the effect on the nipples thereon....

But I digress, this is an economics thread.

One key point to take into account is that in most markets where the consumer has some discretion over what they buy linked to thier ability to pay (houses, horses, cars, wine, women; but not rice for example)top end prices for luxury goods tend to hold up better in a recession than prices at the bottom end of the market. This is because top end goods comprise maybe 1% of available goods and are aimed at,say, 5% of the market and the income of that 5% tends also to hold up during a recession. The other 99% of sellers are chasing a much bigger market share, but one where income will decline in a recession, so reducing the pool of buyers.

On that basis, I would expect the prices of street girls to have fallen substantially in the last couple of years, while some of the top end agencies and independents may well have been able to push prices up a bit.

BigSteve, Don't you think WE have bills to pay too? Or do we just exist in a kind of "hooker-vacuum" where we don't have to eat or have somewhere to live?

escorting is potentially dangerous, highly demanding and (some would say) has an upper age limit.

When you PERSONALLY sell sex then you can suggest to me to lower my prices and I may give you some consideration - until that time it may be better to stop being such a pedant over £20.

Wow, I was wondering when the next recession prices thread would appear. We haven't had one for, oh, about 2 weeks?

I think it's really good. I mean how many mainstream, other providers have you seen reduce their rates by 20-30% 'because of the recession', and how many of you are taking a 25% wage reduction for the same reason. For the retired amongst us I do relaise savings returns could be down from 6-7% to 2 or 3 but you enjoyed great benefits when building up such returns, final salary schemes and anyone with a mortage is now paying very low rates.

I can see this one is a touchy subject - but I would reflect that WG's will have to respond to the Market ! If the supply does dry prices will have to drop. From the sounds of it though most girls are not experiencing a drop in demand !

Whilst I can appreciate that the loss of £700 in one day is a huge amount to lose due to the snow, I'm personally struggling to feel too much sympathy given that this implies that you earn at least this in a day (assuming you also had appointments that didn't cancel)

A heck of a lot of people (me included) don't earn that in a week despite working our metaphorical nuts off!

Anyway, I'm digressing from the topic, but I think the OP was implying that many punters are feeling the squeeze in this recession - perhaps far more so than an escort bemoaning losing a days bookings due to snow!

Sadly not all of us, I fixed my mortgage rate before the slump and have not benefitted in the slightest from lower rates! And I'm far from retired on a money purchase pension! AND I have had to take a 10% pay cut and subsequent pay freeze because of the downturn! Just call me 'Unlucky Alf'!

Nope they all cancelled that day (and more during the week), it was pretty bad. Who was bemoaning? I was merely pointing out that this time of year is not the time to suggest that the girls drop their prices along with their knickers.

Suck strangers cocks then come back and tell us we are overpaid.

I think you misunderstood Sabrina's. She said £700 worth of cancellation in ONE DAY, not £700 worth of cancellation for a day. There is a difference!

Those cancellations could be for the next days/weeks or maybe even months ahead. Sabs: maybe I am wrong, and if I am please correct me.

No if you work it out that way there was a lot more add another 4 bookings!

I have not been able to work properly for one reason or another for many weeks, was going to make a concerted effort for once, just happens I had 3 bookings and 2 of them were 2 hour ones, which unlucky for me fell on the Wednesday the worst day of the snow! Not the norm, I try and do only two as a rule, but if they take into consideration I do actually work around 14 hour days just now, my hourly rate is actually pants just lately. (Obviously I do not whore for 14 hours other things I work my proverbial non nuts doing).

I see: in that case I had £1760 worth of cancellations in the last two days. lol. Still: they all were for the next 7 weeks ahead: 2 overnighters, 1 quickie incall, and one 3 hours booking.

I suppose we about the same: (not that I am working 14 hours a day, but not far off) but still 40-50 hours per week normal job, and at least another 6-15 hours p/w whoring in addition. Do I complain? Of course I am facking am! lol.

WG pricing is not set at on any rational basis if you think about it. take a car, as an example. the cost to produce the car is obviously covered, in addition to a cost-plus, or based on what consumers demand or what the company's competitors charge.

But say an escort works from a flat, is the cost of the rent (or even mortgage) included? the cost of the condoms, baby oil, towels, toys, etc? it's greed lol.

In MK they have done exactly that ! [for the whole of December]

A few of the agencies are offering 'Advent Girls' with a special discount if you mention the codeword of the day.

This can be found online easy enough and applies to a different WG announced each day in December.

So 30 mins is only £40 / 45 mins is only £60 etc B)

:) :)
