Dating Adverts

24 posts in this topic

Looking in tonight's local rag (which is part of the Johnstone Press Group and doesn't allow ad's for massage or personal services ) my eyes wandered down the columns of the "women seeking men" adverts.

At least two adverts I noticed were similarly worded and read as follows :

"Shy young girl, pretty and inexperienced, seeks older male to teach her how to please. Status unimportant."

"Shy quiet female, curvy with endless legs, seeks experienced older male for some fun friendship."

As is usual you have to ring a 0900 or whatever number costing at least a quid or so a minute etc.

Anyhow it got me thinking, are these adverts :

1. WG's using the dating columns as a semi-legit way round the ban on personal services ad's ?

2. Fake adverts placed by the newspaper to fill column inches and generate revenue from the 0900 number

3. Genuine Ad's ? ?

4 Something else that I've missed ?

My instinct tells me it's 2. above and I'm expecting replies to this thread from the other end of the country saying the same ad, word for word, is also in their local rag similarly owned by Johnstone Press.

It is very unfair for wgs to use personal dating sites as a means of getting customers. These sites are for people seeking non-commercial relationships. I was once caught by this. I met a nice lady through a legit dating site, got on well with her, and was rather upset when she suggested that we could have sex and I could give her some money.

Of course, an 0900 type number is a give away.

Someone is making their cash from the 0900 numbers. This may be the paper/publisher but more likely some entrepreneur who has seen the chance to make a fast buck. Good luck to him. Only a fool calls 0900 at £1.50 a minute!

I have used dating sites not adverts out of the paper and it is true that there are working girls who also use them.

Now I have been propositioned on one particular site by a couple of ladies and they were up front and honest about their intentions. Got to know one pretty well and she said that Dating Sites is where she plies her trade as she could choose who she wanted.

Obviously, it is down to your own vetting procedures to make sure someone is genuine or not.

Last year I subscribed to Sugardaddy.com and was sent photos by quite a nice 25 year old and arranged a date. Quite surprised when she came straight out with no sex no money. She wasn't up to a WG in the looks department and wanted quite a lot of dosh so I declined and went back to my regular WGs.

What I meant was if I wanted sex I had to pay for it up front.

Sugardaddy is all about paid for sex. It is not a regular dating site.

I knew that presents would be required and help with living costs etc but nothing quite so blunt as give me £150 for a shag.

If I want to feel like a loser I can go to a WG who knows how to make it all much more acceptable with GFE etcetera.

No wonder I didn't do very well on SD, I was looking for a straight-forward genuine relationship!

Sometimes I'm so naiive.

"Help with living costs".

You mean you really thought that she just wanted her utilities bill paid????

Oh, sorry, forgot about the presents. Makes all the difference.

Visiting wgs is being a winner not a loser, IMHO.

This sugardaddy thing does not appeal to me whatsoever, cash makes life so much simpler, but I had a quick look, who verifies these guys are actually loaded?

You can take ALL the online dating sites, newpaper premium rate sites etc and shove them where the sun dont shine.

They are all there for one reason, and one reason only : TO MAKE MONEY AND ROB VUNERABLE TYPES [nearly everyone]!!

Todays world seems to be obsessed with finding their partner or fuck buddy online and people are sucked into this idea that everyone is doing it and they want to beleive it works.

The truth is that they are all a con, and some people are making a fortune from it. And I would include sites such as EH, M.COM, and all the big names who use False profiles and messaging systems to appear to be busy finding a match just for you.

The good old days of the late 90's have gone for good, where you could chat online and drive 50 or 60 miles for a meet and a shag-- it was fun while it lasted , but the UKs a different place now, and the internet is not as safe as it used to be now that everyone and their aunties gimp is online......

Great memories though, that unfortunately can not be re-enacted in todays world..........;)

I joined the Illicit Encounter website recently and the women on there seem to fall into 3 distinct camps, women who are clearly WGs and upfront about cash for meetings, women who treat it as a regular dating site and are looking for a serious relationship, and women who are newly divorced / separated and looking for some fun.

I have had half a dozen dates with mixed success, from terrible to wonderful. Best of the lot was a newly divorced lady, I had booked a meal in a hotel restaurant for us. After the main course and bags of flirting she almost dragged me up to the bedroom and insisted that I go down on her, something her ex-husband refused to do! The sex was spectacular and she told me she was on the pill so didn't expect me to use a condom, although I insisted. When I touched on the question of money or gifts for future meetings she was genuinely surprised and taken aback. Meeting her again this weekend, will be interesting to see if that has changed.

I'm glad you posted today and i hope it goes well. Most of the OPs thought I was a naieve prat to try a dating site. I know that you can meet ladies for unpaid sex ( unpaid apart from meals and presents ) because I have done it- it's just a case of finding the right site and Sugardaddy was not the right site.

What tripe about online sites  Yes there are WGs operating on them, but from personal experience never had anything but good-to-honest unpaid-for sex with a wide variety of women (one of reasons don't punt anymore). Perhaps just been lucky...or a good judge of character?

Why did you raise the subject of money? I am surprised she wants to see you again.

Well- it seems like Illicit Encounters is one and I have tried Rekonnect and Loving Links with some success. Rekonnect and Loving Links are both married dating sites with both sides looking for sex on the side- with no money changing hands. The major problem for me was that as a Punter I am used to having sex with very good looking ladies in their 20s and 30s whereas you are more likely to find someone of your own age or thereabouts. What is more I couldn't find anyone I fancied but the women on the site seemed to think that all they needed to do was to make pussy available and for me that's not enough. I want a good looker ( like myself! )

Ah yes I remember those days well - even MSN had a free dating site. After exchanging a few emails or chatting on line I managed to score loads of times. I don't think the internet was safer in those days, people just weren't aware like they are now as to how unsafe it actually was.

So am I. I'm surprised she didn't slap your face or ask you what sort of girl you thought she was !

I was a paid-up member for a bit. I think there are party girls up to 25, who are expecting some sort of arrangement, and serious daters over 30-35, who want to meet someone who's solvent. Illicit encounters was ok but ridiculously expensive for guys.

I am not sure about the paper you are on about but the Johnston Press Group up until I last looked in July last year DO allow WG ads, they do not want to lose out on the cash you see, they now put them under chat lines, also done away with the packages they used to do for different papers and charge more for the privilege.

Any on this list : http://www.londonfreelance.org/rates/titles/_johnsto.html

They all banned personal ads under pressure from Harman & co. Obviously this cost them revenue so perhaps they are having a rethink.

No apologies Bert I got the wrong group of papers, The Press, Gazette and Herald and a few others around here, banned the escort ads and snuck them in under chat lines.
