How Do You Do This?

5 posts in this topic

I've always wanted to be able to do what the first respondent to the OP does on this thread:

http://punternet.com/forum/index.php?/topic/15331-student-english-chloe-from-paddington/page__pid__255051#entry255051

- incorporating his own text into the link. How's it done? And, while we're about it, when you link up to another page as I've done, how do you get it to open up just at the point you want it to?

When posting you can click on the link button (next to the smiley and put the url in the url field and your own text in the text field. Direct link with my own text to English chloes website

Or if you haven't got the button, write it directly by writing:

Direct link with my own text to English chloes website

If you want to directly link to a post theres a number on the right hand side of each post with a # . Just use that for the link. Probabaly easier to click on that and copy the URL as its quite long..

E.g. http://punternet.com/forum/index.php?/topic/15331-student-english-chloe-from-paddington/page__p__255017#entry255017

You can preview your post before you submit to make sure its correct.

Thank you for your reply, which I am sure is a model of clarity. Unfortunately, I'm too techy-dim to be able to get very far with it. Don't worry, I'll go on tinkering around and one day the penny may drop.

I know you're all trying to be helpful, and I'll give it a try, but at the moment a sensation is coming over me such as I have not felt since, a teenager, I found myself gazing helplessly at the algebra test.
