Retired Ladies Writing Books

18 posts in this topic

A recent topic on this forum brought a strange scenario to mind.... a Lady retires from the oldest profession then writes a tell all book about her experiences. She recalls the good, bad and the ugly. You may have only visited her once, you may have been one of her regulars. You have read her book. How do you feel if your visit was there in print? How do you feel if your visit was left out her book.

Some Ladies do have blogs, sometimes these blogs contain an anecdote about a client. Her blog is read by her clientele, where a book is more public.

So, how would you feel being included or excluded from her book or blog?

I would be put out if a WG I had visited a few times did not put my efforts in her book, but I would be even more put out if I could be identified by what she wrote.

It is really a question of professionalism by the WG. I would assume that any good WG would take sufficient care not to reveal or disclose so much info as to make a client identifiable.

There have of course been blogs that deliberately identify punters, but a WG who does such a thing should not imo be regarded as being professional.

A WG can write a blog or book without needing to disclose such info. I would add that when writing a book it may be harder to resist the temptation to flesh out the story ;) it is often the little (identifying) details that give an account some extra piquancy, unfortunately that pleasure needs to be eschewed. A visit I made was mentioned in a blog by a WG, and I would be surprised if I were identified from what she wrote.

If I am going to mention someone in my blog I do ask their permission first. Obviously, I don't use their name just an initial.

My reg tells me she is writing a book and that I'm going to feature in it B) not that I think I'm very interesting  !

She is very blonde and loves pink (bless her)....I somehow doubt I'll ever be reading about our time together.

Interesting thoughts. Over time, I have often felt I would like to write a book on this wonderful topic - it NEVER fails to fascinate me.

Whether I will or not.. remains to be seen!

I sometimes write up an exp on blog if it's of particular note (daft/funny), but only aaagges later, and with the boy's consent. Of course, they will recognise themselves, but only WE know the 'in jokes'. I have been contacted by 2 publishing houses to write 'something' (when hooker lit was at it's peak) but said NO, as I knew that they would edit me to death and give me a pink frilly cartoon book cover, trivialising my life, and it's not how I would want to appear at all. Also...their version could kill me dead, and I want to stay here!

Some boys LOVE to be mentioned, they feel a bit 'famous' they say.

I'll do it when I'm old, as it's worth reading, for sure. I would never ever divulge anything that would harm anyone, NEVER EVER.

I would have thought writing a book is no issue legally. Obviously professionally you would hope a lady would not reveal personal details, but if a guy can and does write a field report and is free to write a book himself, then why not the lady?

My only issue is now we have had various books and tv shows, are people really lining up to read such a book? I would have thought there would be a 'tabloid' interest in high profile names, but then of course you enter a tough legal area if you want to name names.

Dolly, I know what you are saying that some guys like to be mentioned in your blog and find it quite flattering. However, do you get the opposite? Do you ever get them saying "I see you had a great time in Clacton on Sea last week, I wish I could take you away" or such like. It is difficult to get the right balance sometimes.

We are asked from time to time by clients "will you be writing a book"

and my answer is no not on your nelly.

I could of course.... I have it all stored up here (taps head) and

I can remember intricate details of meetings which go back to my

beginning in this game. Some eye watering encounters and things

most folk would just not believe. Any lady who has been around a while

will identify with this.

I tend not to read escort books as there are far too many of them around

and are just variations on a tired old theme.

One book I did buy however was Letitcia's Body Worship.

It was mostly hilarious anecdotes and a small sample of the many sometimes

sad and moving meetings she had with men and of course other ladies doing

the same job as she travelled overseas.

A jolly good laugh if you are in the mood for this kind of read.

I think I have more than enough memories to fill a decent sized book but

will not be doing that. But I can see the temptation .... money aside...

it is nice to offload sometimes and although I have confided in a few people

about my life and experiences... I do feel it would be theraputic in some way

to put it all down in print.

Bloody hell I think I could write a book on wacky and weird emails alone!

I would not be happy being mentioned in any book even if my name was not given. Discretion should remain a part of this industry and I wonder if it could put other WGs in danger if some punters feared being mentioned.

I agree. I wonder how many books on this subject get sent to publishers and actually get publicised. :)

Not too sure of the logic here, but I agree that we punters are buying not just the ladies time, not just her sexual expertise, but most importantly, her discretion.

Just think Rooney and the slag he picked up in Manchester a couple of years ago. She couldn't wait to go to the Sunday papers.
