Ladies, Would You See A Guy With Tmau?

5 posts in this topic

going on from the hygienic points made in the other thread, would any of you ladies turn down seeing a punter if he had TMAU? it is when you always have a some kind of rotten odour and it has nothing to do with not washing etc. some people's bodies cant break down certain foods

apparently it is much more common in women than men.i cant think of anything worse to have. i remember seeing a woman with this on this morning a while back. here is the link

I'd hate to find myself in that position as a sex worker/service provider, but the honest answer is no. It saddens me to say it wouldn't be his fault. The sense of smell is something you can't turn on or off and hard to think that there is anything to motivate one to over-look it. If I had no sense of smell, no problem. But I do and it plays a huge part during and after. Smokers get despatched to the bathroom to brush their teeth and gargle. In one case I made him shower as when I went to hug him, even his hair reeked and I didn't want that anywhere near my beddings to linger after he'd gone.

Sometimes I sink my head into the pillow hours after a punt and enjoy the fragrance left behind (provided it isn't kouros). It doesn't have to be a regular client either. Occasionally a guy turns up in clothes that clearly didn't dry properly and have that smell of damp. Maybe the wife knew he was getting up to something that day and had the clothes especially sabotaged. Or maybe he's just a struggling batchelor who can't handle his laundry without mummy.

Tmau is a bitch to have - I went to Uni with a guy who every one wanted to work with on assignments and in tutorials (he narrowly missed a First Class finish but had one of the best 2.1 grades in the faculty. But I never saw any lady apparently romantically involved with him. He was polite and always had a smile for you but there were no signs of intimacy. I used to feel sorry for him, but someone told me towards the end of our programme that she'd heard he had a wife back in the village - doubt a traditional arranged marriage - in terms of a level headed provider, no wife could go wrong. Maybe she had no sense of smell if she existed. Or didn't care either way as long as she was provided for. His stench wasn't unbearable. But it couldn't be over-looked. I really hoped it was true that he had a wife.

One of my very first clients was a really nice guy but he stank of what seemeed to be cigarettes and sh*t. I really wanted to ask him if I was imagining the shit thing and decided if he came back and still smelt that way, I'd know for sure. We didn't have full sex and I wondered how I'd have coped if we had. He was the first man ever in my life to mention a desire to be taken with a strap-on and I wondered if there was a connection between his practice of that and the offensive smell. Back then, I used a different room and remember the relief of opening the window. He wanted to re-book later on when he learnt I'd bought a strap-on, and I couldn't think of a reason to say no as he really was well meaning and helpful (and when you're starting out, any one helpful is appreciated), but the second meet got cancelled by him at the last minute. So I never got to know if he was just having an off day the first time he visited.

I'm sure I saw this covered in Embarrasing Bodies, or maybe The One Show and there were tips to minimise it, especially for ladies who are struck by it particularly badly during their cycle. One of them featured a guy for whom it seemed to happen suddenly and most of their friends and family stayed away. Fortunately for him, his wife couldn't smell it. one thing .

not really, punty. some ladies were saying in the other thread that when women smell downstairs it is because of BV(or something)and we shouldnt really complain about it. i just wanted to put it the other way and see if the escort would accept it as one of the unfortunate things that go with their job

also, that doctor on that clip said 1 in 100 people have TMAU? i dont believe that. i have only met one person in my life who could possibly have had this. someone i used to work with you could smell before he entered the room

and ebony, is this the clip from the one show you mean?

I'm not sure they were advocating overlooking odour related BV. But suggesting odour there may not be poor hygeine but of unwise hygeine, using the wrong type of soap, etc.

But well done, that's one of the clips. The other one is here:

It never ceases to amaze me how people suffer with the kind of things you see in Embarrasing Bodies and their GP's tell them to live with it. Then you find there is a solution. At least they found one.

Well, if I ever have a client who may have this, I shall have to sit him down frankly and discuss this with him and urge him to consider a specialist who can spell that condition. Then he can come back for a special treat. Or not, cos by the time he's cured, he won't need to pay, more like!
