Hand Jobs And Risks

18 posts in this topic

From what I have read on the subject hand jobs are generally considered to be the safest of the various sexual activities. There does seem to be a theoretical risk of Herpes and perhaps of genital warts. I was wondering whether anyone on the forum has actual knowledge or perience of acquiring a STD purely from a hand job.

You could always ask her to use sterile surgical rubber gloves. Avoid eye contact too - WG's are rumoured to be able to transmit stuff just by looking at you.

then there is the risk to the lady of RSI. but the punter could get that when fingering too.

god how do we manage to have sex with all these risks, the species should have become extinct by now.

Yes, but has anybody actually had any STI problems in this way?

Have also wondered how the theoretical risks of Herpes and GW, to name but two, actually translate into practical risks. With all that hands-on contact just hope there is a good handwashing technique between clients. Then there is, maybe, the question of wet towels. Ugh.

And to think you can catch a cold by touching a door handle...

The risk of transmitting Herpes by hand is zero unless he / she has what is known as an active Herpes infection there called 'Whitlow' after the person who first described it. The risk of getting Whitlow from infected genitalia by vigorous and moist touching is somewhat higher if herpes sores exist at the time of activity. If no symptoms, that too is extremely low.

As for GW transmission to genitals by hand - that too is extremely low if not zero. One would have to cross contaminate fro genital to hand to partner's genital.

There is a very useful source of information - an internet based forum based in the US which I am not sure I can name here - they are generally very good and those that have doctors responding are excellent.

Came across a website run by nurses which tabulated the risks to giver and receiver of various sexual activities. The risk from HR in both cases is tabulated as zilch. Would also consider what the above poster has said. Occurs to me that if the lady has a cut, would imagine she might be at some small risk of something from a HE.

Is it medhelp.org? I only ask because I accidentally stumbled upon it whilst doing a Google search for body to body massage today - one of the results was a question on that site asking if you could catch various diseases just from body to body contact.

I would think that someone who asks this type of question either suffers from OCD or has simply lost the will to live.

I understand why you are saying it but I do think that is somewhat judgmental of you Handshandy. What risks an individual will accept in their stride varies from man to man and for that matter WG to WG. Same goes for anxiety. So the original poster has a very low thresold for both it would seem. That does not mean that he is not entitled to seeking clarification of risk and he is entitled to sexual interaction that he is comfortable with, as he is clearly doing no harm to others. Only problem is he will be far better off going to a GUM clinic for advice - however, I sense he does not want to for whatever reason.

PVC man - yes. With 4200 posts I differ to your knowledge of what is acceptable here.

There is a risk that your head might explode. But only if you are lucky.

What is clear from perusing the web is that information on the risks of various activities is inconsistent and, frankly, there is some questionable stuff out there. That is not so helpful so clarification is useful and it may be that a GUM specialist is the person to ask. Everybody, for whatever reasons, has different views on risk and so would have thought it permissible to broach questions here. Also remember seeing a documentary which included an environmental services visit to a parlour (in NZ?) and that was quite interesting.

Having given HR to clients for nearly 3 years, I believe that I've not seen a client with an active external sexual infection. No herpes, no warts... I looked online for pictures of these and other afflictions many years ago so know what they can look like. Of course internal infections of the waterworks and the like, I'd not know about, but would like to assume a client too sore to be thinking of my services.

I have had a client who produced an orange gritty pre-cum. I stopped and asked him why this was and was informed that 10 days ago he'd had a kidney stone blasted and this was the remnants of what was left coming out, his cum was the same orange gritty. I thought he was brave having me doing stuff to his cock, that only 10 days before had had whatever the implement is that they use, shoved up it so they could do the blasting. His erection did come back again after the conversation....

I use a hand sanitiser in front of each client. If I happen to have a hand cut, if it's on the face of my hand that means I cannot work, if on the back of my hand then I'll use a blue cooks plaster as they stay on with the oil. I've also got a tattoo going along my arm to my finger, during the healing time I didn't work.

In the loo I also supply wet wipes as well as normal tissue, it's pleasing to hear (the packet rustles) how many clients use them. I point out to clients to please use the small flannels to wash their hands or bits and to throw them on the floor after, saying please don't use my towel. They get it :)

I've also taken to using disposable couch covers, the ones you can wash about 7 times before throwing, much easier to get dry and far nicer than that horrible couch roll paper.
