Is it possible to get Cialis over the counter at a Tesco or similar the way I hear you can Viagra in the UK now?

No. Viagra and Cialis are both prescription only medicines but Viagra has been available over the counter at Boots and Tescos for some time as they have applied for a regulation that allows the pharmacist to perform the consultation to the enable it to be prescribed. Cialis has yet to go through that process.

You can get Cialis from Lloyds chemists via their online pharmacy or associated Dr Thom site.

You have to have an online consultation first but instead of them sending it by post you can specify a Lloyds chemist to collect it from.

At least you know the stuff is genuine but whether you should have an actual consultation with your own GP rather than the online question/answer consultation is another matter

Now that I am getting on a bit, I do feel the need for chemical assistance. Apart from probable rip-offs, on-line puts me off as I no longer use credit cards for anything to do with punting. Can you pay cash at Boots, Tesco or Lloyds? If so, what is the charge for the consultation and then for the prescription?

Also, will they be advising my GP?

Would like to resurrect this to get opinion on whether the stuff you buy in sex shops is genuine.

i've used Cialis and also Golden Root Complex 300mg and found them to have similar effects. The latter being herbal. You can pick up Golden root in most Chinese herbal shops and even at cinema condom machines.

Hmm, curious why this would be on sale in a cinema, condoms for that matter!

I just tried some cialis for the first time the other day. Actually felt a little high from it; I dilates the blood vessels and relaxes your muscles. But it didn't really enhance my erection. Towards the afternoon my stomach felt a bit funny. By the next day I was feeling light headed, dizzy, had a headache and from time to time my kidneys and liver would hurt. As with most pharmaceutical drugs they can be quite hard on the liver.

I now believe the drug should only be used by people that really need it; not curious 25 year olds :(

So the viagra you see advertised out the front of the sex shops in Soho works? Is it a generic of the real thing?

As I've been having erection difficulties, I went through the first stages of the Lloyds pharmacy online route (Dr Thorn) out of curiosity. I answered (truthfully) that I did not have any physical conditions normally associated with ED, and that I thought my symptoms were mainly psychological (anxiety, depression etc). The message from the "online Doctor" came back: "Your case appears to be predominantly organic meaning your impotence is likely to be secondary to an underlying disease process."

First of all how does she know that? She's basing that on a questionnaire where I've stated that I don't believe I have any conditions associated with ED; as far as I can see, she's simply looked at my age and assumed.

Anyway, I've been offered the chance to buy viagra, cialis or levitra. 4 x 50mg viagra would be £47. I won't be taking this up, because I now have no faith in their "diagnosis".

I think Rayza087 makes a good point: pharmaceuticals can be a hard hit on the liver, and I personally wouldn't take any drug unless there were little or no alternative treatment. I may end up going down the viagra route if my problem doesn't sort itself out over time, but not before I've discussed it thoroughly with my GP.

I'd be wary where I buy impotence drugs from, as there's an awful lot of fake stuff out there, and you have no idea what is in it.

When I did buy some, it was via the Dr Thom route, but it's not cheap, but it did the biz.

First of all if you are going to try viagra go and see your GP. Ask his advice. You may qualify for viagra etc free on the NHS. If not ask him for a private prescription. 4 x 100 mg viagra tablets £27 from Asda. You may find that you don't need them on every occasion.
