Tartmobiles

During after chat with a recent girl and talking of cars, she said she had a typical "escort's car" - a Yellow Beetle c/w eyebrows and flowers.

years back a mate bought a '49 Alvis TB14. A crusty old uncle remarked "a Tart's Car. kind of thing a girl who goes to Brighton for a week-end with the boss, drives"

And then when I first started work, one of the girls had a rep for accepting offers from the better off clients. It was unusual for an office girl to have a car in 63 but she drove a pink and cream Austin Metrpolitan. A tart's car if there ever was one.

So guys what motors today qualify?

And what do you girls drive? or if that's too close what motor sets you thinking when a smartly dressed girl with a big brief case and killer heels slides out?

Audi TT's, Peugeot 206CC, BMW convertibles, Merc convertibles, all seem to be popular with the girls that I see. They either own them - or more commonly aspire to do so.

I used to have a sports car and the business suit, with two briefcases - one on the shoulder and one to carry. I thought I looked like a solicitor's clerk, and hoped others would too..lol I suppose I looked pretty obvious when I think about it :)

These days I tend to assume (back to assumptions again folks) that ladies in sporty little cars are either beauticians, or hairdressers, or WGs. I drive something far more modest these days and it is like a skip inside I am ashamed to admit, (today it will be full of bricks on their way to the tip ((I have a project on the go)), but the best of it is - nobody would ever think I was anything other than an ordinary person going about their daily business and I rather like that.

The best part about having my own place is that I can drive there in a track suit or jeans, and then transform into 'Sarah' when I get inside. When I leave, it's back to the normal life and the supermarket, in the normal car.

I always wanted a red Citroen 2CV, assuming I could ever be arsed to learn to drive (which I couldn't in the end). Gawd knows what coveting an upturned bucket on a skateboard says about me . I did sit in an AC Cobra once, by way of a second choice.

I drive an estate car, it's ideal for the dogs.

Driving back down the A1 on a balmy summer afternoon basking in the afterglow of a nice meeting. A smile on my face.

The smile broadened when I was overtaken by a blond in an open-topped sports car...........don't remember the make.

But I do remember the reg...............TART6 or summat like. The number escapes but the word does not.........nor the rather striking woman at the wheel.

One of those memorable moments.

I quite fancied a Nissan Figaro until I discovered that they were only available as a 998cc automatic. If I want to drive a bumper car, I'll go to the fair. A lot of girls seem to either want or own an Audi TT. I wouldn't want one of those either, very pretty, but bloody awful to drive.

I quite fancy an MX5, but it wouldn't be practical for me at the moment. I drive a Mondeo and for fun, there's always the bike ;)

Aprilia? Ever fancied a Fireblade, a Ninja ZX-14 or something equally mental?

I have always wanted a pink car.... (almost)any car as long as it was pink!

Have stuck with sensible silver grey though and nothing too flash at all.

In my mind's eye I can see a customised creation adorned with pink butterflies and

bunny ears etc.... totally crass of course which is why I will probably never

have one. I am just not brave enough.

I was always struck by the coincidence that when I was getting divorced due to my relationship with a WG and bought a bright red sports coupe it had the reg no PN52***, that's when I asked G to change me from Mike57 to Mike52, neither name was anything to to do with my age.

Yeah the Figster isn't built for racing, it's most definitely a pootle car. If/when I win the lottery I shall also get an RS4. And a Range Rover Sport. And a Veyron. But till that day I shall pootle in the Figster.

So has it been decided if the Figaro comes under the remi of a TARTMOBILE? :D

It does have a turbo!

Some consider them hairdressers cars, as are MX5s.

Def. not a motorway car, too revvy at 80!

BTW, looking at the pink Figaro reminds me of one near to me in pink, also that there was a pink car rally last year, raising money for breast cancer charity, anyone know if it is happening this year?

I've wanted a Ninja since I was 17. I'm sure it'll happen at some point.

I don't get near motorways often, but I travel long distances all the time, so it would be no good for me, even if it wasn't *shudders* an automatic. If I lived in a city, I'd be more likely to go for a Fiat 500.

However, I think that all things considered, the figaro definitely qualifies as a tartmobile.
