There's substantially more about this on the LBB website. Manchester has had a history of toleration of parlours - however recent events indicate that this may well be coming to an end.

When you look at the real crime scene in major towns and cities it's impossible to justify increased police activity in respect of parlours. I suppose parlours are easy targets, much easier than making city centres free at night from pushers, muggers, gangs etc., and in addition are just as 'praiseworthy' as far as their stats for the Home Office are concerned.

(Lies, damned lies and then statistics springs to mind.)

Manchester has a number of excellent parlours. There have been a few instances of parlous being closed down by the authorities in Manchester. If the authorities decide to raid and close down more parlours, this would be a great shame as these parlours would be lost. Does anyone have any information as to why this parlour was raided and closed. Have the authorities decided to end their tolerance of parlours and this establishment was raided just because it was a parlour or where there other reasons. For instance were the oweners involved with drugs or other criminal activity.
