I was told I looked the spitting image of the playwright Arthur Miller.

I was well pleased until l saw photo of him - but to my dismay I can see I do look like him!!!!!!!

Why worry? Marilyn Monroe was crazy about him.

Several working girls have said I look like a teacher. A couple of others have said I look like a writer. I think by this they just mean I have a beard and glasses.

I think I look most like the comedian Daniel Kitson but (happily) no one else has said so yet.

To my sceptical astonishment, I have on various occasions been told (and not just by working girls) that I look like Montgomery Clift (several times, not by working girls), Kevin Costner (at least three times, not by working girls) and Paul Newman (I've lost count, both working girls and other, which may suggest it's the most readily available compliment). Personally I think the resemblance to Homer Simpson is closer.

Robin Askwith crossed with a young Bob Geldof, with a smidgeon of Dr Seuss' Cat in the Hat. And a monkey.
