Cards In Windows

Seen a few "postcard" ads in a few places lately around west London... usually corner shops / newsagents.

Been tempted to give one or two a shot offering a massage "extras on offer". Just curious to hear of anyones adventures if they have called any numbers from them.

Will update if i do over the bank holiday...

Cheers ^_^

Remins me of the old Monty Python routine about ads in the newsagents.

Pram for sale £10.

"Hello darling I'd like a bit of pram!!!"

I still have a copy of the "Ladies Directory", which cost me 5/- and the publisher, George Shaw six months!

My first of many punts was in a Brighton basement flat, horrible expirence, she looked at the wall the whole time, it was like being with a dead fish, thankfully after I reckon doing all the flats all the way up to Hove I found the stars! then moved onto Croydon, then found some hot spots in Horley near Gatwick, then Punternet came along as I was doing the Sauna scene in and around London. Recently I have started using the post cards again but its just not the same, the choice has gone, shame.

Also got into printing up cards as well, even started printing on glossy photo card with multicolours, stunning results, I look at the hand drawn ones today and I cringe!

My first ever punt was with a smart young Canadian woman who worked from a room in Kew. That was in about 1987! Then many years later around 1998 I saw an ad for a mature Thai masseuse, and after a few sessions we ended up going out with each other for a few months which was good fun.

So my experiences have been positive, but they really were in the pre-internet age and I guess I was lucky because it is a lottery. I think part of the attraction was that I felt it was more likely I'd come across more independent women that way, especially with the handwritten nature of the ads.

As for west London now, I haven't tried a postcard ad in recent times but would really warn against a spate of fake ads appearing in newsagents windows, at least in Chiswick and Hammersmith, which are in fact scams whereby you dial the number and then get pestered endlessly with commercial text messages. They are 'handwritten' in a dainty way with different colours but in fact look just a bit too good to be true and have clearly been mass produced.

I think postcards can still be a way in to meet ladies who for whatever reason don't use the internet, which makes it an interesting area still.

I thought local councils were trying to stamp these out. I haven't seen any for about 10 years. Perhaps I go to the wrong places.

I used to work in Kings Cross; dozens of ladies adverts in the phone boxes there. The best one I saw was one that read "erections demolished, phone Lucy on ........."

In London many newsagents have these cards in their windows, i havent read that my local council is trying to stamp them out, but i wouldnt be at all surprised if they did. :)

I understood it was in the same type of "stamping down on the sex industry" that drove adverts out of local papers all over the country. Manchester Evening News used to carry a whole page of adverts for "massage parlours". Now - nothing!

At least one of my local papers still has nearly a whole page dedicated to personal services, some say Escorts, some Massage, other just name and number. :)

This is how I started out, can't say these were the best experiences but I still have fond memories.

All I can say is thank god for the Internet

Westminster Council in the West End tries stop the carding of phone boxes. I believe its an offence to card phone boxes there. Never heard of a crack down on newsagents though. Round here those in newsagents are written discreetly on post cards.

When I started punting, cards and ads in papers were the only way to find a lady. I used to enjoy looking for the cards in windows in new areas I visited and I had a few sucessful encounters from them. But then I discovered sites like this and now I tend to ignore cards, especially as some tend to be scams linked to premium rate lines, or they were.

davidgood
