Wg Used Baby Oil As Lube

29 posts in this topic

An experienced WG from the other site (I say experienced as she had loads of field reports) used baby oil to lube herself earlier on today before I entered her with a condom.

I don't know why I didn't say anything or didn't stop as I knew that baby oil isn't a good idea for lubrication as it can break down condoms. But when I pulled out, the condom still seemed intact. I also just inspected my cock just now and it didn't smell of baby oil (showing it hadn't broken through the condom).

But now I'm a little worried. How could I have been so stupid as to let her do this and how could she have been so unknowledgeable for someone who was so experienced?

Sorry this thread really is more of a woe is me topic rather than having any other point to it.

Do you know for a fact that she was using latex condoms? Without wanting to be awkward, if she wasn't (I don't, because I'm allergic), using carbon-based oils won't make a blind bit of difference, although I wouldn't want baby oil anywhere near my bits either.

I daresay you're right, but it is a possibility worth considering before automatically dismissing her as being as thick as two short ones :).

I have no idea. In fact I'm not even sure if the liquid was baby oil as it didn't smell like it. But it DID come from a baby oil bottle.

I'm just cursing myself as to why I didnt bloody raise any questions before I entered her.

I've still got her number. Perhaps worth dropping her a text to ask what sort of lube she used?

Probably. Maybe just say you're worried as you know baby oil is bad for condoms and you just want your nerves easing?

And she'll reply, "Tesco 15 W 40" ?

Well I got a text back saying she doesnt know and isnt sure (that wasnt her apartment, it was a friends she was borrowing).

So I'm assuming the poor girl isn't clued up about this sort of stuff at all and I really should have stopped her. Fucking hell. What do I do now? Wait out the three months before I get a test and hope for the best?

I really didnt see a breakage in the condom but I've been told oil can cause little tears/holes in condoms though....

On top of this, I think we only had pentrative sex for about 4 minutes (she seemed like she was in a rush and kept urging me to cum).

What an absolute idiot I am. This is going to give me 3 months of anxiety considering I'm a bit a hypochondriac.

Yes, oil-based liquids can apparently damage latex condoms. I had to point that out to a girl who was about to do what you've just experienced, and fortunately wasn't an arrogant "I know better than you" type and was glad I told her.

It still defies belief though that given their profession, you'd think they'd at least know how to be safe before anything else.

Also, this reminds me about another thread I need to bump

She had loads of reports on the other site yet she also seemed incredibly naive about things. Argh I just dont know what do to now.

Go for a test now - it will cancel some STIs out and then go for one 3 months later and bring your own lube in future as back up if you meet another dippy one! Bless, how did she not know that?

Good advice. I recommend Pjur or Maximus lube. :)

Sorry to hear about this and as Annabel advised go to the GUM as soon as. Something similar happened to me so i know its worrying but my advice is you would be very unlucky to have caught anything. I wish you all the best. :)

Reminds me of a good little sport from Kharma in the old days. She wouldn't allow fingering as she said the oil irritated her fanny, but was more than happy for my tongue to be applied.

I too wish you all the best, but I'd advise waiting at least a week and probably two before you go to the GUM clinic. There are incubation periods!

Thanks everyone. Its going to be a long 3 months. Obviously the thing Im most worried about is HIV.

I guess plenty of things are in my favor - the fact I was only inside for 5 minutes, the fact the condom didnt appear broken, the fact I'm not particularly big so didnt stretch out the condom. But I'm still worried as hell.

Guess I just need to be more forceful in future and not get caught up in the moment.

I went immediately and got valuable face to face advice from the GUM staff and am glad i did go immediately. :)

My clinic says to wait 10 days from the point of exposure unless you have symptoms. Irrelevant if you were inside for 5 minutes or 5 hours though!

I just thought the longer you're inside, the more pressure and stress you put on the condom leading to holes developing.

I know it's easy for a stranger to say this, but don't let your annoyance at yourself for not stopping her add to your anxiety. You seem confident that the condom didn't break at all, babyoil or not. And also, keep in touch with her to see if she can find out what was in the bottle. And Is her flatmate also an escort? If so, it might have been lube in a baby oil bottle to 'disguise' it perhaps?

The flat actually belongs to a client of hers who lets her use it whilst he's away.

A paper in 1989 said..."As little as sixty seconds' exposure of commerical latex condoms to mineral oil, caused approximately 90% decreases in the strength of the condoms, as measured by their burst volumes in the standard ISO (International Standards Organization) Air Burst Test."

Burst volume? Before you panic, I'm trying to reassure you. Truth on ISO 9000 does not mean a problem. Did the condom burst? Very unlikely. There is a 1000+ times safety factor on burst. 90% decrease - even if true is nothing. It still leaves you a 100 times safety factor!!!! Proper application & forgotten application is the real issue. Please do not overreact to some true but meaningless fact. All things being equal, if we believe this paper, it *is* better to avoid mineral oil. But better still to avoid all sex. And avoid TV, mobile phones, and beef. And beer. Not for me my friend! If the condom did not actually burst, you are fine.

(others dont even belive this paper - but I'm assuming it is true in my comments)

Thanks I suppose!

I'm almost certain the condom didn't split. I'm just worried the oil might have caused little holes to appear in it though. But nothing I can do now. Just hope for the best and try to reassure myself with the fact that its still very low risk.

Also as said before, I'm not a particularly large guy. My penis doesn't stretch out a condom very much. Dont know if this makes a difference. I'm probably over thinking now.

Think I might actually give up punting after this incident and actually try and find a proper long term girlfriend.

It's blood baby oil not sulfuric acid, what did you expect in such a short time?
