Book Review: Paying For It - Diary Of A John

2 posts in this topic

Hi,

i recently read, "Paying for It:a comic-strip memoir about being a john"

http://www.amazon.com/Paying-Chester-Brown/dp/1770460489/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1315776521&sr=8-1

Was keen to find out if others had? and what they thought.

I thoroughly enjoyed it (although i didnt agree with some of his views on the discussion of the sex industry section at the back (non-comic)), and found myself thinking, "yep, that happened to me" on many occasions, or "i thought that"

anyway, just sharing

Ced

There's a discussion about it here:

I found it interesting but the way every wg is depicted the same way, and the 'Chester Brown' figure being expressionless, was a bit offputting. Also Ches is a libertarian which will mean he would like everything to be a transaction (as I understand it). However respect is due for him writing a book about it and being publicly identifiable, which most people wouldn't do.
