Came up with the idea for this earlier, as was in the chatroom and someone seemed surprised that if I contact a girl, and/or book and/or punt, I use my real first name.

My reasoning is thus:

1. What can she do with just my first name? Unless you've got a first name like "Benedict", there is thousands of people just in your local area called John, or Dave, or Mike. What harm is it?

2. If she compliments me on my appearance, it'd be nice if she was complimenting me on my arse or my cock - not the cock belonging to a fictional person called Bill or Steve, that I've just made up. Nobody wants to hear "my that's a big one John", if your name is Bill. (Not that I've had anyone say this to me, either way.)

The only pro I can think of for using an alias, is if a girl you've seen texted you, and your wife saw it, assuming the text starts with "Hi <someone else's name>", you can shrug it off as a wrong number.

So come on you lot - whose name are you using?

(Oh and it's private - so nobody will know which way you vote, unless you tell us all below...)

So I'm lieing there all tangled up with this smashing bint, and she says, "Oh, Titus, you are such a stud", and I look round to see if her pimp has joined us? If I used any other name I'd only confuse myself.

Always my first name..

Noticed the other day that they sometimes ask what name you booked under, guess so someone doesnt steal the booking.

But might look suspicious if I said "John... no wait...I might have said Steve.....or maybe Richard? No? How about Dave? Stuart? Can you give me a clue?"

Lol yes it's a lot of effort to keep up a lie sometimes. If I used a fake name, I think I'd have to go for the same one....or write notes to remind myself or something.

Apart from with WGs on here where i have used the same first name as i know some know each other i give different names the whole time. I NEVER give my real name, its not relevant anymore than the WG giving me her real name is. Unless i wish otherwise which posting on here and about punts has meant i did wish otherwise i punt complete anoynmously. :)

My real name is Peregrine but, being rather embarrassed by it (I feel it sounds somewhat feminine), when booking an escort I tend to use the name Jennifer, or occasionally Helen, and on one memorable occasion Margaret.

I always tell a girl my real name so she can shout it out loud while I am giving her a bone-jarring-orgasm.

Used to use my real name but no more.

Bumped into a WG at the yellow sticker cabinet in Marks and Sparks, the mrs was just around the corner looking at the normally priced expensive stuff.

I thought about what would have happened if WG had said 'Oh Hi <real name>, how are you doing' and the mrs overheard.

If WG had said 'Hi <punting name>' I could have claimed mistaken identity. Not if she used my real name.

No real advantages in using real name, downside significant.

While I agree, you could always claim you used to work together. She's unlikely to out you and herself...as that's potential issues for her too.

Or just don't tell your wife your real name. Problem solved :)

It never occurred to me to use a fake name. Guess I'm not too hot at subterfuge. Even my full Sunday name is super-common. If I google my name it comes up with pages of "not me". Add in an interest of mine and there I am.

I have had an alter ego for punting since I started over 30 years ago. It has been the same all the time and I simply put my other hat on, so to speak, when punting.

I used to have alias but I feel too detached from the whole experience having to constantly recall which alias I have used. I am lucky that I work in an environment which often has more female than male so I can easily claim as colleague in any incidental social contact.

More likely to make your wife suspicous of why you're denying all knowledge of the woman. Personally I couldn't be arsed coming up with another name.

I give my real name, it's not particularly common/popular and my exact spelling even less so.

Certain ladies of this board as well as any WG I've seen know my real first name but so what! They have no interest in contacting me outside of a booking, they have no desire to "out" me and in all honesty, apart from regulars, it's unlikely a WG will remember that many of her punters by name anyway.

It's a mutual trust thing. I know a handful girls well enough to know their real names and them mine. Was even friends on Facebook with one for a while and enjoyed many an evenings chat with her.

For the rest I have 2 nom de plumes that I'll use as chances are that I may not see the girls more than once or twice

Always use my real 1st name. That in itself is not enough to identify me in the non-punting world. Have never given my real 2nd name, but then I've never had to. :)

I visited a 'Bob' in a city centre hotel some years ago and when I was talking to him it occurred to me that he didn't look anything like a 'Bob'.. whatever a 'Bob' is supposed to look like - he didn't :)

I told him "You look like a 'Richard'.

He looked in amazement at me, and asked me how I knew :)

On another occasion I had a busy day - four outcalls, and the names were ( not in any particular order)

Matthew, Mark, Luke and John...............

I got caught out the first time I went for an FBSM

She asked me my name and i took 2 seconds to answer but in those 2 seconds these are the thoughts that went on in my mind

- should i say my real name

- er no what if

- then what else should i say

- duh!!

- act quick

- recalled the first soft porn movie i watched when i was 15 the chap in that movie was called "James"

so i blurted out James

have used that name ever since

I'd get confused if I didn't use my real name. "Dave? Who's Dave? Oh me...."

It is a missed opportunity to pick a more flamboyant punting name. "Hi, I'm Monty"

It's a sign or something. You're the messiah.

Or at least the messiah works through you to promote the good work of WGs. I knew religion wasn't really anti-prostitution. Even Jesus enjoys a bit of OWO.

There's only one man who'll know for sure - TheVicar - what do you think?
