Ace's First Ever Visit To A Gum Clinic

28 posts in this topic

I just got my test results back from my first check up in a gum clinic, they were all negative which really suprised me as I've been punting 15 years and over 100 punts 80% of those involved recieving oral without a condom.

I really want to stay on the straight and narrow from now on and only recieve covered oral, but it's going to be a hard habbit to break as my favourite part of the sex is the sloppy wet blow job.

Glad to hear you were clear Ace. I go to the GUM quartely and only punt with OWO never having caught anything although i wont be getting complacent. No staying on the straight and narrow as you put it for me, i enjoy OWO too much and its a risk to reward i am prepered to take unlike BB penetration. :)

We are very fortunate that the majority of our escorts are very health concious unlike some parts of the world

I think it depends on each individual clinic, but remember a certificate doesn't mean you are currently ok - it is only valid for the moment they took the sample, and even then probably a point prior to that depending on the actual specific test.

Indeed, unlike porn where the idea is the actor will go for tests on a regular basis to show they were STI clear throughout which is their ticket to future work, in punting there isnt even that level of scrutiny. There simply isnt anyway of knowing for definite what another gets up to sexually so i do what i can do which is look after my own sexual health by going to the GUM and not practising BB with anyone outside a partner as the risks outweigh the rewards to me.

I dont just believe what a WG tells me as that simply isnt good enough where my health is concerned, she may well be being honest but i wont put my health on it. :)

They never mentioned one and I never asked, they simply sent me a text saying

"All your results are negative, this means there are no problems, thank you."

Thank's Smith,I really don't know how I'm going to resist the temptation of owo, especially as it's normally the same cost as covered..also nothing much better than giving a good cim/facial.

When I first went to a GUM I asked about the certificate thing- I liked the idea of having something to wave about being excited over! I was told they do not issue certificates because they can be used irresponsibly by people, usually men (her words not mine) into convincing others to shag them without protection. Of course, as said here if they results are only any use up to the point the test was taken. One could go out on the night of having a test and pick up something icky. My GUM will do a cert but charged something like £40. I get a text saying my results are in and a number to call. They verify it's me and tell me (all negative!). the nurse said that if I had a partner who wanted proof (I don't, he trusts me!), I should call up with him next to the phone to listen in!

I've never been to the GUM as of yet, I think I'm a bit scared of getting bad news! It may be tempting fate, but the chances are very slim as I've never had BB with anyone, WG or civilian, and have only had OWO five or six times. I always like to think I'm going to just have covered oral when I go for a punt and don't quibble when a girl throws a condom on it, but if a girl just goes for it, I'm powerless to resist!

Interesting reasoning since that bad news could prevent you harbouring some bad news in the first place!

No idea about Scotsman as i dont know him but that thinking is the old burying your head in the sand and hoping it will go away. Best to know and deal with is my thinking. When a condom broke once i was bricking it but had to know. :)

Yeah, it's true but sadly it can be human nature to let fear of that kind of thing deter you from finding out. Strange really, since I'm always quick to go to the doctor if there's something wrong and have seen numerous doctors about penis problems, which have now been fixed with a circumcision, so there's no embarassment about getting my junk out for a doctor!

I'm sure if there were any symptoms or something like a broken condom or whatever, I'd most likely get checked out right away.

I can't think of any situation where you'd need one. The text should be sufficient in itself xx

Are the risks relating to OWO perhaps being overstated?

It is my understanding, and please correct me if I am wrong, that the risk to the receiver of CIM, when the giver is known to be infected, is less than 1%.

Statistically less of a risk to the giver if the receiver is known to be infected.

Less still if there is no CIM.

Less still if it is not known if either party is infected with anything.

Taken together, all these factors point towards a low risk.

Am I wrong?

Given that you have managed about 80 OWO punts without catching anything, why are you suddenly opting for OW from now on? Not saying you shouldn't mind, just interested as to why.

I've been punting on and off for 20years and have only just started getting regular tests - thankfully nothing positive so far. It was the wisdom of Smiths and others on this forum that encouraged me to visit my local GUM. For me judgement is a big factor in any risk I would take. You can tell a lot in the 1st 5mins of a punt that should signal whether extra precautions are needed. Most girls take their health very seriously and will be using their judgement on us punters as well. For me OWO is fine when I'm comfortable with the situation - so far so good.

Because I've been lucky this time not to catch something, have a second chance and a clean slate and no longer want to throw caution to the wind, and be left with that doubt in the back of my mind that I might be carrying something.

Something I learn't at my visit to the gum clinic was that they now recommend AGAINST using mouth wash 4 hours before AND after a oral sex...reason for this is that the mouth wash chemicals clean away lots of your gums natural defences, which in turn actually leaves your mouth more open to infections.

I think this is less of a problem with alcohol free mouthwash ... I know that brushing your teeth is definitely a no-no for several hours before/after if you're giving oral.

I seem to remember this being discussed earlier this year, it was mentioned that mouthwash containing alcohol can be quite abrasive but there are plenty of alcohol-free brands out there that are gentler on delicate membranes.

Went to GUM clinic for the first time on monday , the whole thing took me about 90 minutes ,registration, urine samples , blood samples and one hour in waiting rooms. Will receive results within a week or two by text ' positive ' or ' negative ' . The place was quite busy mostly young adults in their 20s . I'm sure if you book in advance the whole thing would take no more than half hour.
