So What Exactly Is Legal And Illegal When It Comes To Punting?

3 posts in this topic

So what exactly is legal and illegal when it comes to punting?

As my screen says im a newb to this stuff.

Was wondering if someone could tell me the basics... Are parlours legal or illegal? Why are there parlours in the heart of Manchester? Everyone knows about Soho walk ups etc.

Would anything happen if you walked out one and a policemen saw you?

Whats the deal with escorts and escorts sites. Are they legal?

Thanks.

If a simple answer to your question could be provided, a lot of lawyers would be out of work!

Could I suggest that you go to http://www.cps.gov.u...f_prostitution/ when you have some time free, and read it carefully?

The one rock solid thing that you can anchor your activities to, if you want to be sure that you never do anything illegal (rather than never get prosecuted) is that no one commits any offence at all, if a punter visits a single independant British lady in her own flat, and pays for sex.

PS I am assuming that you reside in and punt in England & Wales? Scotland, Northern Ireland, as well, of course, as the Isle of Man and Jersey and Guernsey all have their own legal systems.

it isnt illegal to visit a lady at a brothel -legal term for what we call a parlour. a brothel is a place where more than one person works in prostitution. but the offence is committed by the brothel operator, not the service provider nor the punter.

2 things could catch you out

a) kerbcrawling. driving round an area where street prostitutes are is an offence.

B) having paid sex with a lady who is co-erced is an offence. it will matter not one jot if she is an indie or in a parlour. so pick carefully and if not sure, then walk away. But i dont think there have been any convictions for this yet.
