Few Hours Stop At Bangkok Airport

70 posts in this topic

To all Bangkok specialists,

Is there any fun to be had near Bangkok airport if you have 4-5 hours to kill between flights? It is a short time so it has to be fairly close to the airport.

Any advice is appreciated.

I wouldn't hold my breath. By the time you have got clear of immigration it will be time to check in again. Better to sit in a bar and do some girl watching.

I will be going through fast track on immigration but I appreciate it is not much time.

You could get a cab to a parlour In Ratchada or Rama IX Rds, 2hr session then cab back to the airport.

I found the places near the airport expensive and poor value. If you want dafety and stay at any of the main hotels (Peninsinula, Tower Club, Shnagri-la, Millenium), I ask the concierge to arrange a woman.

Are these places near to the airport? I have heard the names and been there but really don't have any idea where they are in relation to the airport. Any idea how long it will take in a taxi. I will need to be back at the airport 40 mins before my connecting flight. 30 minutes to get out of the airport. Leaves me with 3.5 hours spare. Half hour taxi ride either way, that leaves 2.5 hours. Doable if I keep focused :) and know exactly where I am going.

Ratchada is not too far from the airport - approx 20 mins - you should have a good clear hour either side of a shower etc to enjoy yourself.

Poseidon is my favourite down in that area -It's is a 10 storey entertainment complex, located about 200 metres up the road from the Emerald Hotel and across the road from the Grand Hotel. I like the 3rd floor as this is where the really good looking girls are (many are penthouse model girls, singers or TV actresses (as in television - not transvestite) - they are more expensive 4500-5000 thb - than the fishbowl and sideliner girls at 2000 and 2500 thb respectively (prices are approx as not been there is last 12 months). You get what you pay for - especially here!

Enjoy!

When I though about this I was kind of hoping that there maybe places in the vicinity of the airport. I would hate to get stuck in Bangkok traffic and rush in and out. Perhaps I should just contain myself with a foot massage at the airport and raid the drink cabinet in Thai Airline lounge. Shame but I would be returning to spend the following weekend in BKK.

In that case I would try to hang on till then when you have time to really enjoy yourself.

It is a bummer though. Where I will be heading there is not much happening. It is rather annoying being so close yet not being able to touch. I am sure that will annoy me all week :)

If you really get cross with your self you may have to take up self abuse. Be careful, though, it may make you go blind! :P

At the old Airport, the Airport Hotel across the road had a fishbowl in their "gym/sauna". Was slightly pricier than downtown but were some gorgeous girls and a 90 min soapy session with full service cost 3000 baht. You didn't have to stay there to use this facility.

Not sure if the new airport has a similar hotel but must be an airport hotel and head there to see if they have a "gym/sauna".

Again it was the old airport but once past immigration checked out the massage place and got a HJ.

I was hoping to find something like that. Even if not full service, a nice relaxing sensual massage by a cutie would help with the jet lag. Maybe someone will come up with something.

Seriously though........you go to Bkk and you ask your concierge to get you a girl? Even Stevie Wonder could find his own pussy In this city. :o

Take a look at my Bkk map, http://g.co/maps/uz6pz You can take the Expressway from the airport, which goes straight past the MPs on Rama IX, you should be able to get to a parlour have a 90min-2hr session then head back with time to spare.

Assuming you get through immigration pretty quickly, and have a couple of hours before you need to check in again, you have a couple of options.

You could jump on the new airport link train to Ramkhamhaeng on the City Line, it only takes 10 minutes or so, and your just a hop skip and a jump away from the soapies on the New Petchaburi Road, 15 minute walk or 5 minutes in a taxi - don't get the driver to take you to a soapie though as they will rip you off.

Another option is the City Line or Express train to Makkasan, the next stop from Ramkhamhaeng, downstairs, and round the corner, to the MRT, jump onto a train going in the direction of Hua Lamphong station and get off at the first stop, Asoke, and you're then right outside Soi Cowboy.

Also depends what time of day you arrive In Bkk, obviously If It's early morning your options are limited.

The Airport express could be Ideal during rush hour, but usually a taxi from the airport will take you door to door quicker.

Arrived at 3 pm. Went to Rama 9 and found nothing and walked around for a ages. Returned to the airport only to find out my flight was delayed. I could have really gone anywhere in town. I would have happily settled for a nice massage but the couple of places I saw did not look very welcoming. Will be back there in 4 days and plan to have fun.

Fred didn't you make note of a few addresses? the MPs stand out, look like large hotels, maybe you didn't go far enough down Rama 9.

How long you staying for? Where are you staying?

I am sure I was in Rama 9, the taxi driver told me so :). I was looking carefully but all I found was a long street market along the road, a stadium nearby and a massage place with four fat ladies working.

I am not in Thailand this week. I will be heading back to BKK for the weekend and will stay in Soi 6 Sukumvit. A good mate has sorted me out so hopefully I will have a pleasant weekend ahead of me. I will let you know how it goes.

Yes they do short rooms near the airport, but If he's punting he will have to find a girl first.
