Field Reports And Websites

27 posts in this topic

If a lady with several field reports, changes her website - can she change, and is it ok to change the website link in her field reports?

I have sent this question direct to G himself by email, but thought I'd raise this question on here too.

As many people already know I'm having issues with updating my website, the company behind it appear to be not reading, nor responding to emails and I know other ladies experiencing the same issues with them. Now I've registered my domain via the same folks, and only just realised my massive error. Anyway not to be beaten I've set up a new domain, and currently having a new site created by someone in the biz, who understands my requirements.

Now of course comes all the issues of trying to get the new site up there, noticed and of course I have lots of FRs which mention the old site. I haven't changed my name, location, services, rates, nickname and am still Ruth.........so is it possible to have my links changed on the FRs?Or does the old one has to stand?

Bearing in mind it's only a slight change, and I will be eventually battling to get the old one closed down when the new one is up and running properly(but for now it can stay for a bit!).

Just wondered people's thoughts on this.

By the way I don't require any technical advice on this, I've been through it all with several techie types in the last two weeks, gone over every option/solution available and this is the only one. Just a shame when I had the old site for so long, and put such a lot of effort in. On the other hand I am now learning a new system and quite excited at the idea of a new toy!

I note that links on Frs I wrote some time back have changed as the lady has changed agency or web site, gone indie and back to agency and so on.

I suppose that G just needs to be informed and then wait for him to have an "admin day"

If an e-mail doesn't work, then try contact Galahad on the FR Feedback form, using the first option: http://www.punternet.com/frs/fr_feedback.php

He is quite efficient at actioning such changes in my experience. All that will happen is that the link which appears on your FRs will automatically be changed from your old domain to your new one. As you remain independent, no other visible change is likely to be seen (may be worth checking if the listed phone number is correct too).

The best place to catch G is usually the chatroom, he gets a heck of a lot of email. Alternatively, if you pm me with the details you'd like changed I can grab him and get him to do it. But the short answer is, yes, contact details can be changed, I had him change mine not so long ago x

Ruth it can be done easily and quickly. When I left my agency to go indie I sent

G a message and he simply changed the agency link on my reviews...to my own website.

I contacted him yesterday on another matter and he responded extremely quickly.

I don't envy you having to contact all your advertising links though and informing them of the change.

Let's hope they respond to your mails quickly!

Just so that everyone knows, G has been in touch today very quickly. I've also been changing links rapidly too (that's after working out how to post the things in the first place).

A lot of hassle and I know a lot of people will still use the old site for a long time, but hey ho it's a nice fresh start and my photos look a lot better on the new one.

By the way I've been meaning to thank you for the tip re the disposable shot glasses Adele, I did finally found some in poundland after trawling every other shop I could think of!

:) Glad you found them!

One more thing... not sure if you already know ( and you prob do ) but if your old site

is continuing for a while even after the new one is up.... you can always post a link on

the old to the new.. that is if you have access to your pages ..... on moonfruit I can do

just about anything I want and at any time.. I wouldn't swap it.

No I can't.

Reason I'm moving sites is because the old one won't respond to anything - well most things. I can send out newsletters, and receive booking forms but that's it, I can't add content basically. Not even a banner - although I have tried about 10 minutes ago so who knows.

Now that's touting.

No. It's only touting when you do it.

I was just about to post a link myself but CP beat me to it.

Just took a look at Ruth's new site and I think it is nice and bright and colourful. :)

You don't need a complete weekly calendar.... I have never had one.

If someone wants to visit they just ring me and we discuss a mutual time/day.

Having a calendar is one thing but it still does not indicate we are free at those

stated times when someone enquires.

Correct however I started using one and clients got used to it, in fact sometimes they got upset if I didn't take their appointment out of my displayed availability - thinking I'd not taken their booking seriously. I got a bit fed up of it causing strife and took it down a couple of times, to then get emails from guys thinking I wasn't accepting bookings at all, and asking if I was retiring.

The one I have planned will show days when I'm available, days when I'm not that's all. I am however tempted to not have one at all........just wanted to smooth the transition for those used to seeing my month ahead.

Hmmm, very tempting not to bother.

I had to change my old website playtimewithparis literally overnight i changed it to the one that i have now which is www.bristolebonyescort.co.uk

. i just pm Galahad on here that my website had changed and that was that all my field reports just changed to it, but i do have a good webmaster as well which helps loads when dealing with this sort of stuff

I think aslo you can just redirect your old website to your new one (if you still own your old domain name as well and just point it to your servers or something like that)

the best way to contact G is often through the chatroom for a quick response

Unfortunately my old domain was registered via the very people who stopped offering support with my site when it ceased responding. So the domain isn't in my control as such. Funnily enough the site has started responding, just as I get the replacement going. I've been able to post a link to the new one now (I hadn't been able to get it to show new content for the last 19 days, when it is supposed to be instantaneous, and no respond from technical).

Frustrating that I've put in hours of work with the new one, to find the old one is back working however I shall press on because they've let me down severely and I can't risk that sort of thing happening again. There has also still been no contact from them, and no apology/explaination.

I shall give them a few days, since it's obvious someone has come back from hols or something yesterday so will give them time to catch up with their customers.....
