18 Condoms For 99p?

23 posts in this topic

Was in the discount store Bodycare UK, and while queueing for the till, noticed their own brand of condoms, 18 for 99p. Even Durex play lube was only £2.73 which £2.50 less than Boots charge.

Anyone tried these condoms, as I am sceptical on quality at that price.

I wouldn't use them for let's just say "mainstream" services but they are very useful for covering toys. :)

You have to be careful buying condoms in bulk, china are renowned for their counterfeit goods and condoms is one thing,

A good place to buy from is http://www.freedoms-shop.nhs.uk they sell in bulk and as they supply to many PCT's you know they are the genuine article.

Not that a punter would need to buy 144 condoms at a time! but then again looking at the end of year accounts many could keep a condom factory or two in business!

My local Sainsburys was selling 12 packs of Mates for 50p recently and I stocked up.

They were on a stand in the middle of the store and people were looking away as they

walked by .....

They were reduced from the usual £8.99 and perfectly ok with the sell by date.... my belief is

that being in a slightly posh area and regular customers being on hello terms with the

till operators.... they would not want to be seen buying the naughty things.

I use the self service till a lot... others don't like them as they are very afraid

.............

I think Sainsburys were just glad to be rid of their stock of condoms which was

gathering dust on the shelves.

I too have seen the £1 boxes of them in the discount stores and after checking

the dates have bought them and used them for covering toys............ and of course

Stavros.

Stavros is my pet name for my strapon.

Can't beat Mates Skyn, and this is not an area that I would look to save money on, other than deals on these at Boots, etc.

I have never met a client yet who has complained or been bothered by condom "quality". I don't

buy extra thick ones and as long as they fit well ( I have regular and XL's .... not sure if extra

small are easy to buy as I haven't tried ) then clients just want to get on with the job.

I have tried many types (excluding coloured or flavoured... can't stand them and who wants to

see a lime green cock?) and have bought a gross at a time from the condom websites.

I don't accept free ones from the clinic after my check ups as I think they should be given to those

who may not be well off enough to buy enough for their needs.

Apparently I used a "pond liner" condom when I first started this job... I really can't remember but

that isn't the case now. <_<

I picked some up as well from a Sainsburys very cheaply.

The first rule of life - you get what you pay for. I would not want to use a condom that costs less than 6p on average!

Not a rule that my life experiences have shown me to be true.

If condoms cost 6p each or 36p each how do you know if they all cost only 2p to make?

There is no obvious direct link between cost of manufacture and selling price which applies to all manufactured goods.

It's all about marketing and branding.

mm when a new batch of condoms came on the market I decided to go all client friendly and bought a couple of boxes of each including some extra large and some non latex. The Skyn just looked and felt exactly like mates natural and the Aqua pre lubed in the little plastic individual disk holders looked and felt just like...mates natural. So I kept on just bulk buying mates natural as they are the only condom never to rip or be too tight or to come off of their own accord with me personally. I have occasionally bought 30 packets of 3 flavoured condoms from the pound shop when they were selling for £1 a pack as it was the equivelant of £4 for a pack of 12 which i felt was a bargain and they were a good brand and in date, other than that the most i would skimp on condoms is mates on some kind of special offer.

True, but you have to get what you are given, I used to end up giving half of mine from the gum away as I dont like pasante and they must have a flipping deal with them I think. Plus I dont like the durex extra safe as they have no give and snap the most, in fact I had 3 or 4 ever snap and each time they were the extra safe, the gum also loves to fill your baggy with these.x

Quoting Xnorth

Belabouring this topic a bit but to repeat myself.... I no longer accept the free packs from the gum clinic.

What is in the pack would not last long anyway! A busy escort could not possibly get by on just that

little paper packet handed out! unless of course we went to the clinic every week.

I love Mates Skyns, but they are hellishly expensive and the only reason I buy them over Mates Natural are because they're non latex - I can't see any good reason to fork out for them if you're not allergic or sensitive to it, and I'd buy Naturals every time if I wasn't. They often pop up in Superdrug on a two-12-packs-for-£9.99 offer and I normally stock up a bit then, but I'll definitely get on the Freedoms site now that there's the 72 packs :).

I've never got condoms form the GUM! Seriously, do you get a little paper packet? How many is in it?

I usually go for Durex or Mates in the supermarket, and would not buy cheap stuff. To be honest it's not something I give much thought to unless I am running out, but even then I wouldn't go for the cheap ones, and since I don't do strap on stuff (prefer fingers) the cheap ones are totally unnecessary for me x

My dick is very close to me and I would hate the thought of cheapo condoms; I usually carry my own (Skyns) but naturally understand when a girl declines.

Reminds me of an experience a number of years back in Cornwall (funny people), where the lady required me to wear 2 condoms and put them on me whilst wearing rubber gloves (this is a true story, honest). Understandably, the ensuing punt was not one of the best in my career, but easily memorable, albeit for the wrong reason!

I went with my son and they gave him 24 in a little paper bag and they had to last 90 days. I know it doesnt equate if your a horny teenager with a girlfriend but that was the limit so they said. :)

Indeed so. If the condom is a known brand but just being sold cheaply for whatever reason by the shop you buy it from there is no pay-off on it being a dodgy condom, in my case it was exactly the same as condoms being sold elsewhere at higher cost. So i wasnt purchasing lesser quality in exchange for it being cheaper, it was the same quality for lesser cost so a win win. This happens with countless things i buy.

It depends on your clinic, I went to one years ago and was handed a little paper bag with 3 packs of 3 in it. In MK you get a big bag stuffed to the brim lol.x...and yes, its almost always a paper bag so dont visit the gum on a rainy day, imagine if it got wet and burst :o

Wearing two condoms is unsafe, as the rubbing and friction of the two layers increases the risk of breakage.
