How To Run A Legal Escort Agency

7 posts in this topic

Hello everyone,

I have been going round in circles about whether i want to work as an independent escort or whether i want to take the plunge and open my own agency?

However, I'm slightly nervous about opening the agency as you hear so many brothels being closed down and the madam's being given sentences and although i do not want to run a brothel and my agency will be very different to the traditional agencies as i will not be expecting the ladies to sleep with men for money as it is really just about companionship and the safety of the girls is paramount, however, i was looking at different aspects of the law and wanted to know...

Although i will just be the booking agent, i will still be charging a commission to the escorts after each date, but wouldn't that be considered as profiting from their prostitution if they get caught having sex with a client (even though i will be stating that the agency will not be asking the escort to do this)?

Also, do people declare they are escort agencies when dealing with HMRC? and do they really care?

Many thanks

Gabz

You will get charged for brothel keeping no matter what, then in your day in court 18 months later, the police will have to prove that you knew that girls were providing sexual services and you will have to prove that you did not know that the girls were doing this and took reasonable measures to enforce this (i.e sacked any girls that were found to be providing sexual services). Your places will be raided, your assets will be frozen, you will have to attend a police station for interviews and be bailed pending further investigations numerous times, you will need to find a good lawyer and build a strong defense over these 18 months as well.

I am not being a dick, I am just spelling out the harsh reality of our legal system, guilty until proven innocent.

I stand to be corrected but I didnt think the police had to prove you knew anything. If the police can prove that 2 girls were providing sexual services in exchange for money, BINGO, they have thier brothel. If they can prove that you were involved in the management of said brothel which I would assume providing a booking service or not would mean proof was readily available the fact that you tell them you didnt know wont count for much in court or as any sort of defence. How many people do you think get arrested and try that one... Oh No officer, I had no idea there were drugs in my suitcase, someone else must have put them there (poor analogy but same point).

I stand to be corrected as well but you are probably right Sasha. Silverado seems to be the best person to answer this (if he reads this topic)

Are you looking to set up a standard agency or a brothel? I don't think the former is illegal, I've thought about setting one up myself and if you word things in a certain way on your website you can massively reduce the chance of getting in trouble (though I don't claim to be an expert by any means).

There is a thread of a similar nature from Nov 2010 called "Advice starting escort agency" that should provide some answers for you. It was started by a man and received some......uuuummmm.....shall we say....interesting responses?

Whilst you may argue that your situation is slightly different, the key information and advice is still very relevant.

easiest way to find it is to search the word "logo" on this site. You'll understand why pretty quickly

Hope this helps.
