Is there any piece of shareware/freeware out there that will allow PDF listings to be copied & pasted into Excel or open office?

The software you linked is really handy, Trawlerman. In case you can't install the software due to privilege issues, sometimes it is enough to select the tables in pdf (if it is OCR) and copy into excel. If format gets messed up in the process, just pass through notepad and use the tab to divide columns.

My OpenOffice.Org will save as .pdf, but I don't think I can open one and edit it. Another route to .pdf creation is "pdf995", a natty little bit of shareware, which one selects as a printer, and which then produces (usually) good quality .pdf files.

I am a bit puzzled: I understood that latest office versions allowed modification of pdf files and copying content from pdf file to excel without any add-on. Is this still correct?
