I Have Received This Email A Few Times Lately

7 posts in this topic

You have received this email because a user account password recovery

was instigated by you on PunterNet UK Forum.

------------------------------------------------

IMPORTANT!

------------------------------------------------

If you did not request this password change, please IGNORE and DELETE this

email immediately. Only continue if you wish your password to be reset!

then a load of other instructions and questions................with the following stuff at the end .....

If you cannot re-activate your account, it's possible that the account has been removed or you

are in the process of another activation, such as registering or changing your registered email address.

If this is the case, then please complete the previous activation.

If the error persists, please contact an administrator to rectify the problem.

IP address of sender: 2.100.194.10

Has anyone else had this in their emails.... it appears to come from Punternet.

I have been ignoring it and not responding.

Yes I know attempts by folk to log in to others' accounts can occur

so will be interested to know if any light can be shed on this one thanks.

I think if anyone trying to guess a password of another's account will find

that after a few attempts it is logged and the innocent party informed.

It does sound like someone is playing silly games. Either someone is trying to access your account, or they are sending a spoof email in at attempt to get you to reveal your password. Either way, just delete the message and don't click on any links in it.

Oh I am used to game playing of late

Several messages and emails which I just ignore.

This one bothered me though as it was meant to come

from this site.
