8 posts in this topic

London prohibitionists are staging a meeting on November 4 to push for further restrictions on lapdancing clubs. The meeting, at Portcullis House, SW1A 2LW, is to be chaired by Polly Toynbee of the Guardian.

Co-perpetrated by the Fawcett Society and Object, speakers will include Dr Katherine Rake, Fawcett Society; Dr Sasha Rakoff, Object; cross-party MPs; and the Local Government Association.

The two hour meeting starts at 6.30pm. A few dancers from IUSW have undertaken to brave the storm + need all the support they can get.

If I remember correctly Portcullis House is one of the corollary buildings to the House of Parliament (but on the opposite side of the road).

Security was very tight, and I am not sure if the guards there are still carrying machine guns

Lap Dancers Object To 'Sex' Label

Angry lap dancers have taken part in a protest against government plans to reclassify them as sex workers.

On Tuesday, Lap dancers Lynsey Catt, Sian Wilshaw, Katherine Martinez, and Sharon Warneford presented a petition with nearly 3,000 signatures to Number 10 Downing Street, on behalf of the association.

So they wouldn't have been too pleased at a bunch of WGs turning up to support their cause, then? :)

Or was this thread aimed only at the male population?
