Geriatric Old Duffer

Own Doorstep ?

I always tend to punt away from my home town, usually at least 20 miles away, this seems like a sensible precaution to avoid bumping into anyone I know. However many, if not all, of the girls that I see also work away from home for the same reason and recently I met a girl that I knew from my home town to the embarassment of both of us. What do others do? Is punting away from home really necessary?

I always punt at least 20 miles away from home and usually 30 or 40 but that's because I live in North Devon and as far as I know there are no WG's any nearer :) I apologise unreservedly to any environmentalists that I may have unintentionally offended by this admission.

There used to be a delightful lady just a bus ride across town ( the joy of the bus pass). She finished her Phd & vanished. While she was around, we did pass in the street a few times. No embarrassment, just "nodding acquaintances" as me Mum used to say.. But then she's African & I'm old.

Still looking for another easy drop in like that

I live in a village, so the chances of me meeting a working girl here are about a slim as a size 0 on a diet :)

Living alone, more than half my punts are outcalls to me. Can't get much more 'on your doorstep' than that. Strangely enough the nosey old sod opposite never seems to notice when a WG visits, but when I've had the occasional- and perfectly innocent- visit from one of my tastier work colleagues he always seems to be in his front garden with a knowing look on his face.

I always tend to punt away from my hometown as well, but thats beause I am just too fussy about the girls looks. I haven't seen anyone near me who I would go and see who ticks all the boxes that I am looking for.

There is an old saying "Don't S*** on your own doorstep".

Away from home is sensible.

Yep I manage to avoid doing that despite the many local temptations. Other side of the river at least.

I guess it depends on how big the town you live in is .. even if you punt out of town I guess you could still bump in to colleagues who might live in another area to yourself.

I now live in the Docklands area of London and there are several flats away from the offices but have not punted there for a very good reason going back to the mid-90's

I used to work in Baker Street and around 8pm on my way to a basement around the corner saw my boss coming up the steps of the flat next door ( and he didn't live there )... ever since I've tried to punt away from the area I work ( although people live all over the place so can't really stop an accidental bumping in to someone - although with x million of people in London it is very unlikely ).

I don't think bumping into a girl is the problem - just smile nicely if they recognise you - she isn't going to say anything any more than you... at least it will give you something to talk about when you go there the next time ( you may have guessed my conversation is limited !! )

I live within 10 minutes of the punting mile in Prestwich Manchester with some of the best parlours in the country but just too risky of either being seen going in or meeting someone I know inside.

Always travel to see an agency girl over the border in Yorkshire safe & discreet even if it's more expensive well worth the extra

I punt in MK.

I live 2 minutes from Annabellas and drive past it every day.

For over a year, Id been unknowingly parking outside one of HODs houses when Ive pop into town for lunch/shopping.

I also drink at All Bar one and chinese quarter, which is close to HOD, independents and other agencies.

If I was on a punt and someone saw me then so what, I live here. Im walking home, off for a drink/lunch/shopping. No one would be suspicious.

If someone spotted me or recognised my car 30 miles away thou, even thou the chance it happening would be less, if it did then that would be a bit harder to explain.

Thirty years ago when the world was a bit smaller, and there was neither Punternet not even Internet, I was going down the escalator at Holborn Underground station one lunch time, and saw an Irish WG from a Soho walk in (ground floor in a mews parallel with Berwick Street) on the up escalator - I'm afraid that in those far off days we both smiled broadly and waved!

It shouldnt be a problem in a huge city like London. However, i was sat in a bus one day on my way home (car was being serviced), and a really tasty girl came and sat next to me. She was only a Polish WG i'd seen a few months earlier..!! Not sure if she recognisd me, but neither of us said a word to each other. I wanted to but didnt think it was appropriate.

There is a problem with visiting too far though. A gent was travelling 100 miles to see me today. As he got quarter of the way I got involved in a really stressful incident. Due to what happened I was no longer up to seeing him. Under normal circunstances I would have cancelled. But as he was on the train I couldn't turn him back. My heart wasn't in it 100% so I had to be honest with him that my mind was not going to be fully on the job. I ended up just giving him a shorter time for free. What else could I do?

I went on a punt 120 miles to see a lady earlier this year . When we met it turns out she lives in south london like me and asked me to take her back to london by car on the monday, I was returning on the sunday so she didn't get a lift, but I was left thinking is it ever worth the effort to travel out of town.

I do believe the best wg's are in the capital anyway ,as this is where the punters are and the competition is greatest. I'm sure lots of you will not agree.

You are never safe, and anyway many wgs work a long way from home.

I had a small lunch party in an East Midlands town with two escorts and two recently retired escorts and we went on to the hotel across from the restaurant. I was making my way back from the loo to rejoin them and passed the chairman of a company of which I was a non-exec director. So I took the initiative and asked him what he was doing so far from home. He gave me an obviously genuine business reason and then asked what I was doing there. "Oh just helping my niece and some of her friends celebrate her birthday," I said.

The following summer I took one of them to Lord's for a day at the Test Match and we bumped into the same man!

I'm not too sure that I agree with you, at the moment I'm seriously contemplating a trip to Milton Keynes to visit one (or two) of the very popular organisations there, thanks to Punternet!:)

There seem to be plenty of lovely ladies at all 4 (I think) parlours/agencies there, and they seem to share a sensible approach to pricing. Only problem is that it will mean a 120 mile round trip, and I'm not sure if I will feel it's worth it after that.

If you live near London there's little point in going anywhere else in my opinion. The choice, quality and anonymity do it for me. But then I regard travelling as a real chore, must get out more I suppose.

I was waiting outside Earls Court tube for a girl I was going to meet, and saw a man I know slightly from a [insert sport here] club. As it happened there was a meeting on in Lambeth later that evening that we were going to, so it wasn't all that unlikely to see him - but in a city of 7.5 millions?.

Thats the very reason why I prefer to punt on my own door step. I have an excuse of being there.

If I were to drive somewhere else, what if I had an accident or my car broke down, how would I explain that away. I had to think quikley once when I had filled up with petrol at my local town when I was meant to be working from home, and he credit card bill was seized upon.

Bumping into someone whilst punting isn't quite as embarrassing as bumping into someone at the local clinic. Last time I went for a check-up I walked into the waiting room to find one of my colleagues already sitting there. We smiled at each other briefly and left it at that. Neither of us has mentioned it since- he's no keener than I am to have word get out.

I went to a bar in MK with some work collegues to watch a Chelsea match, walked through the door and noticed a stunning blond at a table with her friend. She looked very familar but couldnt quite place where Id seen her. Obviously she was way out of my league and being a shy guy didnt try to chat her up.

Two weeks later I had my first and only meeting with Crystal. And the same stunning blonde girl I saw at that bar opened the door! Recognised her instantly! Result!

I don't get hung up on location. I have punted with girls 1/2mile from where I live (as stated before, I don't have to make excuses if spotted in my home town) and I have travelled up to 75miles (one way) to see other girls. I always worry slightly that on the longer trips something like a car breakdown might happen, so always invent an excuse like "I am going to Milton Keynes for a business meeting today", just to avoid awkward questions should something come up. I have had no problem either way so far.
