Why Do Some Wgs Charge More Than £100 Per Hour?

265 posts in this topic

I don't think they should complain if they are not getting bookings because I think more than £100 per hour is too expensive!

Money isn't a big problem but I just think over £100 is too much and bad value as £100 is a lot of money! Sorry for moaning

I think a WG needs to charge a price according to the sort of client they want to meet.

This discussion has been had, many times.

The answer is that not all WGs are alike, and they are entitled to charge what they see fit. Often, the price is in line with what the lady considers fair and how busy she wants to be.

And if you don't like it, then carry on seeing girls who cost less than £100 an hour. No-one's making you visit anyone else.

but they can't complain if they are quiet or not getting a lot of appointments if their prices are £150 etc. Even if I was a millionaire, I wouldn't want to pay more than £100 because I would feel that its not good value

Agreed - I'd rather see someone who's more selective

I think wgs, like any other service or product provider, should charge whatever they like - as long as they're honest about what they're providing. I think this is a case where the free market works very well - the wg has a right to charge anything she likes and the punter has the right to say 'yes' or 'no'.

However, it would be interesting to know whether wgs are getting all the buisness they would like - if they are, then no problem, if not - maybe it's worth looking at the prices. I think there are many men who would like to pay for time with a wg, but are put off by the price - many just don't have £100s to spare, and some do but are worried that they could spend a lot of money trying out different wgs before they find one they 'click' with. I teach piano, and charge £20/hour, so to pay £130 for an hour's 'hobby' feels like a big outlay to me - something I need to save up for.

I think that if prices were lower, then many more guys would take the risk and have a go - the risk of losing say £60 on a bad punt would feel much more acceptable than the risk of losing £130 on a bad punt. But, like I say, if wgs are getting enough business, then they're probably charging about the right amount for them.

Some charge it because they can and still get punters paying whatever fees they charge. Its a free market so a punter either decides to pay over £100 an hour or not. In my case if i had refused to pay over £100 an hour i would of missed out on a lot of good or better WGs so as long as i think its VFM i will pay the rate.

My rule of thumb maximum is £150 an hour but i will excede that for a WG i fancy and rate enough, going to £180 an hour in recent years, its highly unlikely although not a definite never that i would pay £200 an hour or more as in my view that is too expensive for me. Obviously other punters will pay such rates and its a good thing in punting that there are WGs charging a range of rates to suit many pockets.

Pay what YOU are prepared to pay and as long as you realize fee charged is absolutely indicator of how good a WG could be its then a matter of locating the good WGs in your chosen price bracket, which this site can help with and research carefully.

We charge to reflect our trading & our opportunity costs.

I earn enough to do as a please & work when I please.

I'm retiring in 8 weeks to concentrate on the rest of my life.

I have enough other stuff to do not to be worried about working constantly. I'm meant to be escorting today & I'm still working on other things at home!

Why does Claridges charge more than Harry Ramsdens fish n' chip shop? It's outrageous. They do good fish 'n chips at 'arry Ramsdens. And you get change out of a tenner. Claridges can't complain if they don't get as many customers as 'arry Ramsdens. They ought to reduce their prices.

My regular girl costs £200. Ive seen lots of other girls ranging from £100 to £150 only one of which turned into a regular.

It depends what you want for your money, nobody's twisting your arm but if you want I know a girl who will, it will cost you though.

It's cos a lot of WGs can get away with it, overpaid bankers, politicians using expenses & lawyers (i.e. all the city/oxbridge types) see them & push up prices for the regular working punter

Who are the ladies who are complaining?

Not me for one!

Pay what you wish to, if you do not wish to pay what a lady sets her pricing structure at, just move on to someone else who fits in to what you desire to pay without it offending your sensibilities.

A moaning man is not a bad thing.....

Lucy :)

Have you been to Harrys at Guiseley recently?

The glory days of coaches doing trips there, and having to queue for half an hour have long since gone.

They over priced themselves and let the quality slip a tad.

Quit moaning and get a cheaper hobby then. £100 an hour is still very much the cheaper end of punting, with most charging between £120 - £150. You can have sex with some fabulous women for that amount of money - the memories of which may well stay with you forever - for the same price as for a half-decent (but forgettable) meal out.

/fluffy mode

What do you want an hour for anyway? - I'm usually done after 20 minutes, max.

Who's complaining? Has someone complained to you? If so, did you tell them exactly what you thought? :)

If a lady isn't getting bookings, she may well be charging more than punters are prepared to pay her.

Yes £100 is an awful lot of money, but I'm baffled as to why you are looking at ladies who charge £100, which in your books is bad value, rather than searching for those who charge less

Sorry for moaning

Apology accepted :D

Went to Harry Ramsden's years ago when I was on a cricket tour in Yorkshire. I remember that us penurious youngsters ate from paper in a lean to at the back, while the older, mostly married's ate in the restaurant.

My point is that we had a choice of what to spend our money on based on the values that were important to us. Had I not wanted to spend money on beer, I could have spent it on eating fish and chips off a plate.

I won't say noses weren't pressed enviously against the window, but we made a choice. It's the same with punting, I can pay £50 for what will hopefully be a reasonable 30 min punt with a hopefully attractive but unknown EE girl or I can spend a bit more and see a lady with feedback, FR's etc with whom I might establish more rapport. Unless we nationalise the industry this will always be the case with different people offering services at different prices. Why should this be any different to any other transaction in any other walk of life???

I wonder how the marrieds coped with their guilt ;-)

I teach piano, and charge £20/hour,

That's cheap. I know piano teachers in London who charge 100 p/h
