Trafficking For The Olympics Exposed As Myth.

"But more than two years later, Tessa Jowell, who once told the Commons about her determination to combat sex trafficking at London 2012, now admits that "current intelligence would suggest that we are unlikely to see large scale trafficking into London as a result of the Games".

"There is some anecdotal evidence to suggest that international sporting events might create demand for paid sex due to the influx of tourists, site workers, contractors, the media and indeed the athletes themselves - although this is contested."

Well, that was £600,000 wasted then.

Well, yes, indeed, but what is important is that it wasn't Tessa's £0M6! (Remember it was she who forgot that VAT is charged on building Stadia!)

Not to mention the most likely candidates - visiting politicians, the dignitaries of the sports' governing bodies, and other assorted freeloaders.

Well spotted, Rev! But I can just hear Julie Bindel tapping away at her computer right now and will be looking forward to reading a rebuttal in tomorrow's Grauniad. ^_^

It was, all for political agendas. I would much rather they spent my taxes on catching real traffickers and stopping people including those that intend to work as WGs coming to the UK illegally whether voluntarily or not and/or lying to get a visa myself, whether its them or their trafficker or associates that arrange it or not. I am very glad to hear the government says its targeting student visas from those outside the EU, i hope that is greatly intensified.

The hypocrisy of the police is so evident in all this to my mind. They have raided brothels in areas near the Olympics saying they want to get rid of this scourge but knew these brothels had been operating and some for some time, in fact they allowed these brothels to operate when it suited as they do in many other areas. So its a scourge when it suits but even then in many other areas brothels are tolerated.

Legalising brothels would be so much better for WGs and potentially for punters although it might mean having to pay more. It could also get rid of the real low life scum that run some brothels at present.

And I could have told them that for an hourly fee of £130, think of the money they could have saved

SCD9 was given £600,000 to tackle the potential increase in trafficking in those five boroughs in the run up to 2012

How the £600,000 was spent:

Step One: Visit Danish Pia, have an hour of delightful pleasure and, on leaving her premises, remember to ask her if she knows of anyone being trafficked

Step Two : Repeat Step One 4,615 times

Step Three: Claim your gold medal for sexual olympics

So large-scale trafficking during large international events like the olympics have turned out to be false? (Not a myth, actuall false according to the report)

So is large scale trafficking still a myth when we dont have the olympics?

Was there large scale trafficking when we have other large sporting events like Wimbeldon, British grand prix, FA Cup, Cricket, Rugby, Golf, etc in order to come to this conclusion of is it just something that happens with olympics....

Im against trafficing obviously and "happy" they had an investigation incase it happened but surely they must be waking up to the fact the escorting doesnt automatically mean trafficking and should acknowledge it and make it safer.....or is that just wishful thinking....

The government, some of the media and femi-nazis already know this but ignore it as it doesnt suit their anti-prostitution agendas where linking trafficking to prostitution suits them as it makes it look to joe public that its ALL evil run by wicked people. ;)

'Sporting' hookers ? Now there's a thought ...

Wimbledon WG "Anal? That'll be 40, love"

Grand Prix WG "Are you in pole position?"

FA Cup WG "Score in a minute, you're gonna score in a minute..."

Rugby WG "Waddya mean, you've just been given 10 minutes in the Sin Bin? I kept my flat well tidy, darlin"

(feel free to contribute other excruciating puns)

I wrote a blog about just this issue which has been well read as it were..

Madam B x

Great blog post Madam B. Informative, well-researched and funny.

"Anyone who knows how a man’s body works, will be aware that copious amounts of alcohol, consumed by over excited anthem chanting fellas generally culminates in them falling sideways into a privet hedge, or staggering through deserted car-parks searching for a kebab van. Most men, after a day in the pub necking lager and shrieking at on-screen penalty shoot outs are unable to find their way home, let alone source and negotiate terms for sex..."

I've had some very intimate moments with privet hedges. :)

Belle de Jour's latest contribution in the Guardian to this ongoing debate makes good reading, as do most of the readers' comments following it, and should help keep your thinking wishful:

Thanks for the link Tiggy, very interesting. Good to see some credible people giving their views. Just think how much worse this would of no doubt been if Labour and Harriet Harridan had still been in power with her crusade. :)
