Positive Discussion Of Prostitution On Woman's Hour Today

5 posts in this topic

On Woman's Hour this morning (BBC Radio 4) there was a discussion of prostitution which - for a change - was very positive. Usually they have Julie Bindel to give the feminist side to the issue and she usually says something untrue. Last time on Woman's Hour she said she had found lots of learning disabled women in a Nevada brothel, which isn't what she had said originally.

Today the presenter talked to Australian sex worker Rachel Wooton who has many disabled clients. She is the subject of a documentary called Scarlet Road. You can get more information here and listen to the programme here on the BBC site.

Just watched the trailer for "Scarlet Road" looks like it'll be an interesting one to watch.

This was such a refreshing and positive discussion. Here's a link to the precise section of the programme where the interview begins:-

Catch it before it expires in six days' time.

The film sounds incredibly moving. It is being shown at the "Sheffield Doc/Fest" on 15 June at 15:15 and on 16 June at 15:45.
