Did It Ever Slip Out?

27 posts in this topic

I just got out of a business meeting / presentation, and one of the topics was about 'Business to Business' ... the bullet point on one slide abbreviated this to "B2B" ... I was wondering how many other guys in the room would be thinking what I was thinking when suddenly the presenter said "body to ... errr... business to business" ... looking around the room it seemed that no one else even noticed this slip of the tongue.

I was wondering if anyone else lets punting terms accidentally slip out at the wrong time ... I guess it's easy done for people spending time on these boards. There must be so many to be careful of .....

What about abbreviating : Common Information Model .... or One World Order etc

There's some advert on at the mo for a beauty product of some kind, and the tagline is "Go BB!"

Anyone else seen it? Still no clue what it's all about. What is this beauty BB they speak of??

I've accidentally done that a couple of times myself Lucy! Your not alone there :) lol

In regards to BB it seems to have a few meanings, but yes bareback usually springs to mind first!

Oh and for the person that asked Bb cream in beauty stands for "blemish balm" (nothing escorting I'm afraid)

Cara xx

I was talking to a work colleague about a video game review of House of the Dead, which on my screen was abbreviated to HOD. The office was in central London and I read it out loud as House of Divine!

I'm not sure how many people overheard that one, but only a fellow punter would have got the reference.

Thankfully, whenever It happened to me, nobody was around to hear it. Got to be more careful though.

There's something at work called a PSE and I'm afraid I might let on that it stands for something else.

I work in IT consultancy and I'm continually surprised at the number of computer software systems abbreviated to CIM. ATM is also common but more of a porn than punting expression. Computer geeks do like playing word games. I worked with a graphic artist who kept referring to DP in meetings, he meant desktop publishing, he was the only one, everybody else, even the women, used to look around every time he said it.

A while ago I had to do a double, then triple take on the news headline "PSE figures falls" to figure out it was talking about public sector employment.

Oh dear , when I read the title of this thread I though it was about a "throwing a sausage up an alley" situation of "falling out" hehehe

I've seen adverts for a buisness called something like "Bareback Services"; turns out to be something to do blankets or something to do with horses...apparently.
