Housewarming Gift

11 posts in this topic

Hi all,

Over the past 7 months I have seen an indie girl six times so I guess I am a regular. She is moving premises this weekend and I am hoping to see her at her new place next week.

I would like to take along a small gift - say up to £20 - as a housewarming present and would suggestions for suitable items.

Ladies what would you be pleased to receive in similar circumstances?

If blokes are allowed to make suggestions I would consider

a picture frame

an attractive vase for her to put future offerings of flowers

Some sweet smelling bath fragrances

Sorry to be blunt, as I often am, but why are you asking the question? Why don't you just do what you think is right?

Because the OP specifically asked for ladies opinions and I like to please!

Sorry porker, but I'm easily confused. You're a bloke right?

Flowers always work.

I gave flowers to a girl once, after about 10 minutes she called me into the bedroomwhere she was laying legs akimbo.

I said "What's this for?"

She said "The flowers"

I said "Blimey haven't you got a vase?"

The old ones are the best Phil.

On a slightly different subject. Saw my favourite Thai girl today and when she opened her fridge to get me a beer, saw it was stuffed with chocolate bars, which reinforces my experience of how much these girls love the stuff. Probably because it's difficult to store and sell in hot climates, so when they're here it's a luxury which can be indulged easily? Anyway, my next house warming gift will be in chocolate form.

Each to their own, of course, but personally I take along a nice gift every time I meet a girl - its called her hourly fee!

£100 - £150 an hour (depending on the girl) is (I personally feel) sufficient for her to buy flowers, chocolates or wine to her own hearts desire ;) especially considering how many hours I have to work to earn that fee!

And whilst I can see that it's obviously a very nice, polite and indeed chivalrous thing to do, I often wonder why guys do this (buy additional gifts etc) - is it just wanting to be nice and a 'gentleman' or is there a deep down 'hope' that it will derive a better service or something else?

Edit: reading that back, I apologise to the OP if I've gone off at a totally different tangent ...
