Escorts On Fb & Twitter - Why?

40 posts in this topic

I've gone on to a fair few sites for escorts or Massage Parlours etc that have an option to follow them on Twitter or Facebook.

Why would anyone do that?

Am I the only one that finds this bizarre?

Never have, never will, use either of these so-called "social media". They are a perncious invasion of privacy if you let them get into your life.

I agree with Paul and have zero interest in such sites except some like in MK offer discounts off punts on their Twitter accounts (or did) so thats the only reason i would check a SPs Twitter site out. Apart from that they are beyond mind numbingly boring in my view.

Marketing and as a promotional tool. Cheap, easy to use, potential massive market.

And yeah, I hate things like Facebook too.

OK I don't know why any wg's would use it, but I think Facebook is terrific for keeping in touch with people. not into Twitter but regular on Facebook.

Why not?

I'm on Twitter (Lamorak_KRT) and as well as general chat etc, one of the things it comes in usefull for is when there are changes to the rota at the MK establishments I use are tweeted, particularly if a girl i'm looking to see or a new girl is added, it gives the opportunity to call and book straight away.

The private messaging system is also very useful and I have used this to make bookings or enquire about a girls upcoming availability.

As my fantasy is lingerie clad girls, I also tweet pictures of these and my twitbabes site has had getting on for 70,000 views.

Twitter is useful for publicising certain things to guys who may not have an opportunity to view our website all the time.

For example, I can tweet pics or publish the rota during the course of the day, which is useful for guys who may work for companies that don't take to kindly to their staff visiting escort websites. Twitter may be seen as an annoyance by IT departments, but it isn't a taboo.

We've had FB accounts in the past, but have ditched them as they tend to be a bit too close to home for some of our ladies (plus the 600+ friends which we ended up with from Saudi Arabia are hardly likely to pop in for a punt).

Oh, and I forgot to add that I can tweet whatever shit comes to mind without having your average board moderator or Grammar Nazi breathing down my neck. Always a bonus!

I bet you said you would never use a mobile phone or have a CD player when they came out.

The world changes, move on.

I can't see why someone would advertise through Facebook with all of its restrictions on nudity but Twitter is a must these days.

If your website is down for any particular reason you still have a means of contacting your customers and you can post any changes to rotas quickly to keep people informed.

From an advertising point of view it is another way punters can get to your website and best of all its free to use.

FB and Twitter have their advantages and uses but I am so far managing very well without an account on either. I struggle to

find a single person who is NOT on one or the other or both. I am not even tempted to be honest.

I think it is rather amusing when people boast of having 1000 "friends" I assume a large proportion of those are really complete

strangers. No worse than the old MSN chatroom arrangement I suppose but at least on there it was mostly text only and unless you

willingly exchanged photos (again which could be fake) then it was in my view a safe(ish) way to flirt.

These days most businesses have a website and a great many are now on FB too..... any advertising is good advertising and fb linking

must be beneficial to any business.

............ still not getting myself a profile though.... just not interested.

I am with Adele here. If she can manage then so can I.

With regard to Art Issue You only have to read how much cyber bullying goes on in these media. Also with an allowance of only 140 characters you can very easily be misunderstood (See Aiden? the tory twit who posted about the Olympic opener).

There is a long history of the adult industry being the first to pioneer technology - wasn't it the US porn industry which put Betamax out of business and promoted VHS. I'm sure the bloke who invented the internet never thought for a moment that it's primary use would be to look up porn and escorts.

I imagine a very smart guy like Tim Berners-Lee knew that porn would be something that would be on the net.

Tried both facebook and twitter, recently closed the Facebook account. Why?

It was obvious after a short while that most males who became 'friends' where not interested in making a booking (well all bar one). Very much like MSN many guys would claim they weren't aware they'd added an escort to their contacts, now either people really do add random folk for no reason, or it was the old "stumbled innocently onto your website" line. Very often there's be real family and friends profiles and photos on display and they of course would have been able to see my profile. I found this in itself a little odd. Either way the contact would always go the same way, lots of one line ping-pong messages despite my website being clearly available(and pointed out).

Moving on to twitter I find this is absolutely fine, I have a couple of contact on there I chat with, have exchanged friendly messages with, and found some very interesting blogs on there too. It's also very easy to post availability, tours or special offers on there too and uploading photos is also very easy. There is a lot of dross about, people constantly posting naughty pictures etc etc, but on the whole I prefer twitter and find it very good for posting availability, and keeping in informal contact with people you get on with but without commitment in the form of email addresses or phone numbers.

Have any bookings resulted?I don't know but I am fine with the medium and will stay on it.

Umm

be careful. the monitoring of these sites is carefully monitored to squirt 'targeted' advertising at you. So corporations know what you are arsebooking or twattering about. Seems like an invasion of privacy to me, especially with this hobby where discretion is paramount.

there again several parlours use twatter to keep their rotas up to date and to advise todays ladies as the rotas can often prove a work of fiction. Indeed Ambassadors club in brum doesnt have a rota online, just rely on twatter to advise of todays ladies, and embed their twitter feed on their home page.

have I an arsebook or twatter account - no.

They are a useful way of caatching people out in court under cross examination

It could have been fun if they'd chosen that aspect of the internet to celebrate at the Olympic Opening Ceremony :)!

It's a case of if people want to use it they can, if they don't they don't, both are free marketing anyway.

It's only my opinion but I think the whole hype about cyber bullying is absolute rubbish. Bullying is something that happens to your face, if someone says nasty things about you on a website you always have the option of turning it off/deleting the comment and blocking the person.

You do have a point about the 140 characters bit, just means you have to think a little bit more before hitting the send butrton!

Me too :D

I would never connect punting with real life so wouldn't even consider doing anything punting related on facebook (and I don't think I've ever seen any parlours/escorts using it anyway) but Twitter is perfect in my opinion for keeping up with the punting world while still being anonymous.

I also find the ability to follow some famous people rather interesting, seeing some of the things they write that shows what they're really like rather than whatever character they might be playing in a film or on telly and even getting into twitty conversations with them occasionally.

And I've had many public and private chats with various girls and agencies on there as well, not all the chats being punting related I've found it very pleasant

It's just another way to advertise. Previously it was shop windows, lamposts in Soho.

I've found it a quick way to get likes/ dislikes, and compare reviews from other punters. What does amaze me is how some people use the same twitter account, they use for work or family.

I guess the point I was making is that it's so public. Previously it was shop windows, agreed, but no punters put a sign in their own window to say they were a customer of Mrs XXX.
