for WG's used to be either on their own independent web sites or through an agency such as HOD or via a listing such as Another Website.

I now find more ladies direct us to their twitter or Facebook pages. Is this a trend that we will have to get used to or will it die out soon? I hope it will disappear as fast as it came.

I imagine this will continue and get more common over time as its another way of reaching potential punters. Only if the owners ban such advertising would i think it wont expand.

Social networking sites like those mentioned by PP, may be for the younger person to join in and communicate, but they cause so much more harm than they sem to do good, so many kids get bullied over them, and driven to suicide.

Footballers are targeted by idiots who think its okay to pretend to be them, and say stupid things, so the followers dont know who is real and who is not.

The list why they should be banned is endless.

If more people simply decided not to bother with those social networking sites, im sure they would soon be removed.

I can never understand building a website, paying for hosting etc ( possibly paying someone to build and maintain it) all that attention to draw people to it....only to almost immediately presesent them with a button to take them away again where they can find thousands of other escorts all plying for trade. The same websites often refusing links to competitors website!

I do like twitter ( I think) but It takes a hell of a lot of effort to get guys to find your site...why suggest they go away and give them a shiney comedy bird button to do it?

Just seems a bad practice.

Yep I found this especially with Facebook. The amount of people who supposedly 'add' friends and email addresses without knowing where and why  , yeah, right.

I have a couple of good male friends on Twitter. Some active players in the escort game, some retired and some chatters who have joined me after noticing me online.

They all say theyve been spammed by "hard sell' escorts and agencies who have seen they were friends with an escort and decided to target them.

Take your links down girls youre giving your hard won visitors away!

Sounds like my scepticism was right after all.

Can I ask which links you mean?I'm not quite understanding which you refer to, those on website? The twitter button?Followers?

Scepticism in what? It takes a hell of a lot of investment in time patience and hard work to get a site into a decent position in the search engines. Why then redirect your visitors away from that site to twitter ( or anywhere else) to have them treated like they were walking through a Cairo tourist market ?

I don't think having links to a twitter account linked on an escorts website is a very good idea, in as much as you have worked hard for those visitors, why direct them away before you show them what you have to offer. If you feel having twitter followers made up of people who have already found your website is a good thing, and would like to let your visitors know about your twitter account it would make much more sense to have a pop up show to visitors as the leave the site ( theyre leaving anyway ) rather than as they are browsing.

We have to ask why we have a twitter account. Do we have it to attract people to our website -which makes sense or do we have it to send people to who have found our website - which doesnt make sense.

A blog where visitors can comment available on your website is a much better interactive idea.

My scepticism is directed at those for whom a good web site is not deemed to be enough. As you have said, the "social networking" sites are a distraction from the main event.

If all WGs decided to switch to social networking I would go back to the papers / contact mags / phoneboxes ..... but it ain't ever gonna happen, is it?

Oh I see ! I agree although I have to admit to being a connsumate tinkerer where my site(s) are concerned and having a most obsessive battle with seach engine placings when I cant do as well as I hoped. I'll work for weeks to move a result up a few notches - even though I dont expect to get any visitors from it. Its a battle of wits- a self taught button pusher against millions of dolloars worth of software and hundreds if not thousands of trained nerd employees! I like a good scrap lol.

Social networking is an excellent opportunity for exposure but sadly anyone who sends visitors away from their site doesnt really get the idea.

Its to attract people not send them away.

By the way I have a real name twitter account that I use - Twitter can be a mine of information when footballers sportsmen managers and owners have had a tipple and start blabbing :o

I love sport, and enjoy going to Anfield for football, and Old Trafford for the Cricket, but to see what some players say does my head in, I would prefere to see them as good at their sport and leave it at that, Joey Barton is not a typiccal sports player, but what a pratt he has made of his life through social tweeting, come to think of it, he has made a pratt of his life on the field as well, but you get the drift, better they dont say too much on social networks, as it only spoils the illusion.

I'm guessing the social networking sites are the 'new Escort forums'. The audience far more varied and includes prospective clients who wouldnt wouldnt necessarily frequent escort forums.

It also seems a lot less 'social' that their collective names might imply but this can also mean less flaming/trolling and generall bitchyness.

A more sanitised way to communicate to the internet masses but not half as much fun as forums used to be. ( cant speak for them recently as I seldom have time to browse them lately)

He now speaks English with a french accent, his latest youtube video is ridiculous, he sounds like Arsene Wenger.

I very much hope that Facebook and Twitter (surely the name says it all?) do not become the only media on the internet through which to search for escorts.

A complete idiot but a national treasure - A sort of social "Eddie the Eagle" I havent sniggered so much for an age.

I dont think there is any danger of them replacing directories or even forums. They do seem very popular with amateurs and professionals alike although I'm guessing they may become the doorway for girls into the wider internet world of escorting. Much like chatrooms were early on before the popularisation of directories and forums in the early years.
