Adverts Are Back!

7 posts in this topic

i recently noticed that the manchester evening news had adverts for escorts and parlours, its a few years ago when they were pulled due to pressure from the labour govt, the adverts are small in number but may increase when other parlours notice that m.e.n. is accepting ads again.

the free paper: metro also has ads, perhaps the present govt is'nt too concerned about ads, time will tell

Always been ads in my local papers, they were at not time pulled, just shows it was and still is dependent on the paper and the company that owns it and their attitude to the ads. They presumably make money for the paper.

The problem is, when they were away, we got used to no longer depending upon them, and used the internet for this, so we have a few numbers listed away of the ladies we want to see.

Its no going to get many folk going back to them, as we have moved on now.

Predoninantly it was the Johnston Press group that had an outright ban on the adverts. A local paper of mine still has them which is not part of that group and from a quick google the M.E.N. isn't part of that group either.

We're supposed to have freedom of the press in this country aren't we ?

I had rarely used them for years anyway but yes i wonder how many punters who didnt use the net then got the net once the ads in their local paper/s had been pulled, a fair number i would imagine.
