Con!!!!!!!!!!!

If it sounds too good to be true...

Our reporter asked the “assessor” whether the “sponsors” have health checks. He answered: “We do invite them to do that, not all of them choose to do that but you can choose to have protection or not have protection on that basis.”

He described the need for her to first of all have the “practical assessment” with him as like “quality control for us”, adding: “Whatever you put on your sheet what level of intimacy you’re prepared to go into, you and I will go through that today. We’ve got a questionnaire we’ll go through, your likes and dislikes and the kind of thing you’re comfortable doing.”

He added: “We have to do that, to make sure when we put you in front of your sponsor you’re confident in doing the things you said you would do.”

sounds like one guy chancing his arm and trying to get a free shag - the mention of girls aged 17+ was interesting as that's clearly illegal. Also the Q+A section at the bottom is wrong on several points of law. There's no law against advertising sex on the internet - women call themselves escorts because it sounds better than prostitute and because they're as clueless as the independent. Also the new offence of paying for sex with a forced prostitute only has a fine of £1000. No jail. And trafficked has nothing to do with it.

Besides, students can do better with the MFC/wishlists/rinsing phenomenon.

It does seem a bit like the porn genre where a girl is "tricked" into sex on camera with the promise of a lucrative porn career. Though most of those are clearly really acting and know the story. Most are too good at what they are doing to be amateurs and some have appeared in porn before!

Listened to a bit on Radio 5 Live this am about this.

It may well be the case that the students involved are 18 but they are more than likely to be 'victims' here.

Whoever runs this kind of scam takes pimping to a new low.

Having read the whole piece in the Indy it is clearly a way for this guy to get to sleep with as many students as possible. He is low life and I hope he gets outed very soon.

Well I read that the scam site has been shut down for the time being. Although it appears that ever increasing numbers of university students are getting into the sex industry anyway, hopefully most find it to be a positive life experience and perhaps when some of them graduate they might help to get the law amended in order to allow for safer working conditions for WGs.

Economic woes push more women into sex work - Channel 4 News

Students and single mothers are increasingly turning to prostitution as government cuts impact on women who are struggling to make ends meet.

A new study from Kingston University claims roughly 6 per cent of students, from a sample taken across the UK, are currently working in the sex industry, which includes erotic dancing, stripping and escort services.

Sarah Walker, from the English Collective of Prostitutes, has said that they are getting more calls than ever before from students looking for advice - but the majority of calls still come from mothers. She says the law prevents women from working together for safety and puts students at risk of exploitation by "unscrupulous people" running dodgy agencies. "Most women work for themselves, but women are criminalised under the current laws, whether they work at home or with a friend,"

...The Collective of Prostitutes say British laws victimise women and have called for complete legalisation of the industry following the New Zealand model where four women can work together. "This makes it easier to leave the industry if you want to - as you won't have a criminal record hanging over you."

Students and the sex industry: Empowering or the last resort of the debt-ridden - Home News - UK - The Independent

Research by Dr Ron Roberts, of the University of Kingston, published in 2010 suggested that one in four students know someone who had worked in the sex industry to fund their studies – up from three per cent in 1990. Dr Roberts found 16 per cent would consider working in the industry while more than one in 10 were open to the idea of being an escort.

Research by Teela Sanders and Kate Hardy, of the University of Leeds, found that a quarter of lap dancers had a degree whilst a third of the women they interviewed were using the job to fund new forms of training.

Much of the expansion over the decade was to do with the proliferation of lap dancing clubs. But the internet also threw up a new range of opportunities for anonymous sex work.

According to the Indi they're holding him on suspicion of "inciting prostitution" - is there such an offence?

Lets hope he also gets done for further sexual crimes. Is having sex under false pretences (i e to give a job to the girl) rape? If not it should be.

Away from the particulars of this scam and picking up another comment above, there is a big study going on about students and prostitution involving Swansea University.

Well no there isn't, it's inciting prostitution FOR GAIN. It's perfectly legal for him to encourage women to become a prostitute, it's only illegal when he starts making money out of it. I don't think it's a coincidence that they've left out the "for gain" bit in the articles to make it appear that prostitution itself is illegal.
