Definition of a BBW?

62 posts in this topic

Hi, what would you guys class as a BBW? I'm a size 16 - 18 with b sized cup so wasn't really going to class myself as a bbw , however i've recently seen sizes 14 call themselves it. To me i assumed a bbw was you know huge, but obvously not? It's bit difficult, if don't get classed it run risk am too big for punters as most would like lovely and slim, yet class myself as a bbw run the risk of being too small?? ha. Not too sure what i think anymore!! ha. ;)

Thanks :-)

I asked the same question on my blog a few months ago. The most helpful answer I got was this one:

"I think it's a question not of absolute size but of what used to be called 'vital statistics'. If your bust/waist/hips fall anywhere near the 3/2/3 ratio range then you are voluptuous, curvy, shapely etc. but not BBW in my book.

I'm not good with numbers, but I think that if your waist measurement is less than three quarters of your hips then you're not BBW, whatever your total weight/dress size."

Sounds about right to me ;)

For me it's all about proportionality. The first 'B' is for big; not huge or gross or fat, just larger than the average. Big women who have a full and proportionate figure are more often than not also beautiful in a classical sort of way. In my experience such ladies are almost always content to be that size and shape and consequently are more confident, happy and friendly. This automatically leads to them radiating a sexy 'womanliness' which I personally find very attractive.

At the other end of the scale and by way of contrast, very thin women often have issues with food and nutrition which can render them neurotic about what is 'normal'. This can cause them to develop types of quasi-assertive behaviour which sometimes translates into distinctly unattractive qualities when judged from a male sexual perspective.

I stress that these are entirely my own personal views on the subject. Thank goodness we're all different, making room for mutual attraction between all body types and shapes.

Big Beautiful Woman, I would say you would be size 16 and over. There are 2 types.

1. tall, big boobs, narrow waist, big bum

2. big boobs, big tummy, big bum. A sort of big round ball of soft female flesh to envelop yourself in.

I would never search for bbw, but I recently went to visit a lady who was, in the recent past, a lingerie model . when the door opened I felt disappointed as she was much heavier than her photos showed and in my view was now quite big. however, I decided to proceed. she was fantastic in every way-- lovely personality, friendly, confident, great attitude [ now, in my book we are already 90% there ] and the best kisser I ever met. as you say, she was woman thru and thru--- it was a great tryst ! however,I think I could safely say she would not describe herself as bbw. back to the op, in my view unless you clearly fall into the bbw cartegory, I would not define or limit your appeal to bbw -- just give your stats and refer to your curvaceous figure.

Surely that depends on whether the lady in question is 5' 2" or 6' 2"

I guess a size 18 5'2" may weigh 150kg then 6'2" wieghs just under 200kg? She would still be a size 18 but with more of the same, no?

Sizes go by inches, not weight. A 36" waist would look very different on those two frames.

Forget the sizes and measurements.

If she looks overweight in a big way but also quite pretty then she is a BBW imo.

If she is overweight and ugly then there are several other words but "beautiful" isn't one of them.

Spot on. I've met taller girls size 18 and they certainly don't look like BBW's.

So how many BBWs do we have around this forum?

That probably depends on who you ask.

If you're into size 8 women then you'd probably class me as BBW.

If you're into BBWs, I'd probably disappoint you.

Ya can't win!

Who knows, who cares? If you're not slim you can use it as a marketing tool if you want, or not. Just wondering if the op has got an answer yet, as I've seen the identical post on several message boards?

This is a really interesting question. I really think it is to do with people's perception of what is 'big' and what isn't. I used to be a size 12, and when I worked at an agency in Bournemouth, one of the maids used to market me as a 'bigger' girl over the phone, didn't use the term 'bbw', but still implied it. Personally I don't think size 12 is that big, but the maid thought so. In fact she was a size 6 herself, and compared to her I probably did look huge!

I'm a size 10 now, and I often refer to my body shape as 'curvy' in written descriptions (either on my website, website profiles or on announcements), because I nip in at the waist, as opposed to an 'athletic' figure, which is more straight, with narrower hips. However, I am sure I read on here somewhere that the word 'curvy' is another way of saying 'big' or 'bbw'!

"Pretty Big Escorts" the web-site which specialises in BBWs specifies size 14 and above. Interestingly I have seen size 14's referred to as Baby BBWs.
