At This Time Of The Year I Would Like To Remember ....

10 posts in this topic

At we approach another year end my thoughts are drawn towards some of the ladies who have graced this forum in previous years but have moved on to pastures new. Although there have been many such ladies, two in particular strike a chord in my memory. In no particular order I miss the delightful Miss Swallows from Swansea and the unforgettable CSM. Both were (I hope still are) charming, thoughtful and FUN! I would have included Joanne of Leeds if she was not still here under a different name Great ladies all! If their departure pre-dated your entry to the forum you don't know what you missed.

Please feel free to extend this list if I have omitted anyone your favourite(s)..

I like to think those lovely ladies who have left the business and moved onto pastures new probably don't want their past lives to be remembered or even spoken about.

That said....there was one lady....way back when.....

*sigh*

Yes, I remember CSM. She was the first escort I ever saw, and what a choice. One of the best decisions I've ever made. And I've seen Joanne, twice, and what a lovely lady.

I also wish a lady from Nottingham (previously Leeds) who went under the name of x melody x was still working. What a star she was.

I do however, still occasionally have thoughts about a bright, young student and cheerleader from Sheffield who I saw five times and was known as Miss Carla Louise, sadly no longer with us....RIP.

Thank you for the kind words guys :)

Because this is a punting forum I would like to remember a working girl friend of mine who died this year - well to be honest she occupies a little part of my head and it breaks my heart to think of her now. I still have the new year messages and declarations of love on my phone and I cherish them. I'll raise my glass to her tonight, as will quite a few of us in Leeds I expect. x x

As an aside i remember Miss swallows. I met her once at a social in Leeds when she came along with Tanya who incidentally is someone I seem to have lost touch with. Two lovely ladies and fun people !

I shall raise a glass to Lovely Slut And Stella Caine, both of whom we lost this year, at very short notice.

I hope their friends and families have been able to come to terms with whatever they learned as a result of these ladies being unable to cover their tracks.

I shall raise a glass to all the wonderful women who have given me so much fun over the last few years since I returned to punting.

God bless you all and may whatever you wish for yourselves come true.

Ladies, I salute you!

I will raise a glass to all the men I have known in this world who have been quite ill this year and are getting there......

A special bloke has just made contact with me who I did fear was dead to be honest.

Cheers, and a healthy new year to one and all,

Lucy :)

Dance-Hall Girls

Robert Service

Where are the dames I used to know

In Dawson in the days of yore?

Alas, it’s fifty years ago,

And most, I guess, have “gone before.”

The swinging scythe is swift to mow

Alike the gallant and the fair;

And even I, with gouty toe,

Am glad to fill a rocking chair.

Ah me, I fear each gaysome girl

Who in champagne I used to toast,

or cozen in the waltz’s whirl,

In now alas, a wistful ghost.

Oh where is Touch The Button Nell?

Or Minnie Dale or Rosa Lee,

Or Lorna Doone or Daisy Bell?

And where is Montreal Maree?

Fair ladies of my lusty youth,

I fear that you are dead and gone:

Where’s Gertie of the Diamond Tooth,

And where the Mare of Oregon?

What’s come of Violet de Vere,

Claw-fingered Kate and Gumboot Sue?

They’ve crossed the Great Divide, I fear;

Remembered now by just a few.

A few who like myself can see

Through half a century of haze

A heap of goodness in their glee

And kindness in their wanton ways.

Alas, my sourdough days are dead,

Yet let me toss a tankard down . . .

Here’s hoping that you wed and bred,

And lives of circumspection led,

Gay dance-hall girls o Dawson Town!

I'll second Paul with regard to Lovely Slut. I never had the pleasure of meeting her, though it was planned, so my knowledge of her was only via the chat room, posts and pm's. Also from the comments of other forum users. Not a bad word from memory. You can't say that of many people. If we felt she was something special then I'm sure that the people who really knew her well must have thought she was pretty marvellous.
