Is Punting Like Boxing?

20 posts in this topic

All boxers 'retire' from boxing, then come out of retirement to fight again.

How often do punters 'retire', then return to punting again?

How often do WGs 'retire', then return to the escorting again?

I've seen a few returnees from both sides over the years, but I've also seen plenty disappear never to return.

Is punting like boxing in that you hit each other about? Not in my punts.

You have to know when to throw in the towel.

No low blows.

If you are cut & bleeding that's a big problem.

Ducking & diving are de rigeur.

............I suppose there are similarities.

I went to the local nurse with this severe rash on my balls. She had a good look and said "You're going to have to stop wanking." I said "Why?" She replied "Because I'm trying to examine you."

I'm roughly 20/8/3, wins/ties/losses.

Ties being we both come or neither come, losses being the WG comes and I don't.  Two losses by way of knockout stunners.   :)

Just like the boxing punter who pays good money to go watch a fight and then feels all short-changed and deflated when the contest is over in the 1st Round

........ so with punting, when after paying good money I feel unfulfilled when my encounter with the Lady is all over in Round 1 :D

Actually punting is more like the automotive business than boxing.

Lots of new models appearing

They cum in all shapes & sizes

Some fast & furious & difficult to ride

Others built for comfort

Different choices of trim

Expensive to service

Jacking up can be painful

Ford's biggest seller was an escort

One careful owner is a blatant lie

Thanks for those amusing posts, ladies and gentlemen. Light holiday season reading. Only something to answer literally if you've got boxing experience as well as punting experience, maybe.

I used to go in for competitive boxing when I was a university student and still young enough afterwards to pass for one. Not painless, but very satisfying when you're doing everything right. To get there you need regular training and plenty of it. That's true for punting too, did I hear someone say?

All the same, punting isn't like boxing. Not at all. Take my word for it. I've been there. And there.

Not "like" it but for me they may have had something in common.

I'd started in boxing before I got to the university. I started punting after my first year. Sex at the same time, because that was the same thing. No other way in the local society (except marriage? perhaps, but not a sure thing - I heard some horror stories about that). After 5 years I'd finally had a bellyful of all the no-sex crap and insults handed out by the girls, women, purity crusaders and mad preachers in it. Not to forget the university Evangelical Alliance. Desperation before the change, happiness and sanity ever after. I started to feel properly at home in my body too.

During the first year the university club trainer gave me a hard time. "You're the most unnatural boxer I've ever seen" etc. Before the end of the second he was selecting me for competitions. "I've worked it out now," he said once. "You must be a different guy from that no-hoper with your face who was around here last year."

I'd like to think there was a connection somewhere. Thanks for those amusing posts, ladies and gentlemen. Light holiday season reading. Only something to answer literally if you've got boxing experience as well as punting experience, maybe.

Sorry for the double exposure there, folks. I've got no idea how that happened.

But there's the old bureaucratic rule "Double your efficiency; do everything twice."

As I read your post I began to think that I was getting old!

I have recently come out of retirement from punting. One of the main reasons that made me stop before was that I had a issue a few years ago when a WG I had seen became a little too attached over time. She would constantly send me text messages and phone calls and other things I wouldn't like to describe and just was a complete psycho -  She was a independent I picked up on the purple site if my memory serves me correctly. Since then I just wanted to take a back seat because it was a pretty messed up experience.

Entering back into punting just made me realise what I have missed. For some reason I find it a bigger turn on to be intimate with a working girl then normal girls. Maybe it is the rush of being intimate with someone you don't know the real name of - but yes I think a punter goes through different phases in ones life where they will retire and re-enter the band wagon.

Just giving my two cents.

Badboy.

Maybe you took a hit too many. Back on subject, punters tend to drift in and out I imagine, no one bats an eyelid, but some girls come back and try and recapture the big money of the their glory days, but as they say in boxing, their legs have gone, reduced to fairground booths or unlicensed cage fights,,,,,,

I've just got back into punting after a 6 year lay off – a relationship.

It's like night and day. I'm different. The girls are different. The services offered are different. The prices are similar. This is the UK.

I don't know whether the scene has changed much or I have. 6 years ago I was using the internet as much as I do now but I wasn't aware of amazing information out there as I am now due to this site and the other one. I don't know if they were around 6 years ago. This is just my experience.

I never used to do much french kissing before – it was offered spontaneously only occasionally. Now it seems to be much more common. I can't think of anything better, personally.

IMO comparing the punter and WG retirement/return is like apples and oranges. Guys can hobby damn near forever. With the ladies, it IS kinda like boxing as just a couple of years - in some cases - can make a MAJOR difference.

Funny, the boxing analogies just keep coming. Look at Ali. 3 1/2 years removed (maybe too long to use for an example, though) and he just wasn't the same. Look at Evander Holyfield, lol. I'm gone, I'm back, I'm gone, I'm back. Geez! Marketing ploy?

Punting is like a box of chocolates...you never know what you are going to get..sometimes standing behind that door is Forentina Gump ;)

Hit? It must have taken some time to catch up with me, then. I'm not saying you can't be right, but my last competition was in 1961. I retired while I was still doing OK. No comebacks attempted later.

Last punts were at the weekend and Tuesday. Latest, I mean. I've never attempted retirements or comebacks in the punting business because I've been punting happily and continuously since I started.

Next, on legs gone and fairgrounds, that pricked my conscience. I still feel a bit guilty. Not about punting; I've never tried a punt with any of those legless ladies (or overstomached etc), and I've certainly noticed a few. About fairground boxing.

The story doesn't belong here - even with its happy(ish) ending - because there was no punting. But there could be some punting lessons in it.

The scene was a boxing tent at a big agricultural show in 1959. I was there with a friend from back in our orphanage days who put me up to it. He was small but he was mean and looked it. Built like a New York City fire hydrant too. No boxer but a good chap to back you up in any dirty fighting without rules, and I never enquired too closely about what his business interests were. I was lucky to have him with me.

Lessons now.

1. You may be fighting with the boxer but by comparison with the real bad guys in the management you're probably on the same side. That could apply in the obvious way to punting and the WG, unless she's an independent without a pimp.

2. It doesn't matter how legless he is, never relax when you're facing a real pro. He knows more about professional fouls than you do. For WGs, replace he by she.

3. If in doubt, always bring a small mean friend along with you in uncertain situations. That lesson could be good for WGs as well as punters, of course.Hit? It must have taken some time to catch up with me, then. I'm not saying you can't be right, but my last competition was in 1961. I retired while I was still doing OK. No comebacks attempted later.
