Procrastination

14 posts in this topic

I am procrastinating a hell of a lot due to this hobby and it is affecting my business.

I am spending more time than I can afford:

  • Looking at this forum;
  • Checking out the WG's on AW
  • Communicating with WG's I know who choose to email me;
  • Putting up RB's and checking every two minutes to see whether a bid has come in;
  • Checking every two minutes to see whether any messages have come in;
  • Contacting girls outside the RB
  • Tinyeyeing (yes; I know that's a made up word) any new girls that do bid
  • Communicating with girls who have bid
  • Communicating with girls who have not bid but who meet my criteria
  • Rummaging through laterooms to find the right place to punt, contacting those places, trying to get the best price possible for a room etc..
  • Follow the punt thinking about the punt itself, leaving feedback, looking at my feedback etc.

To a certain extent the challenge of "hunting for a punt" has always been as enjoyable for me as the punt itself.

However, it is beginning to take over.  I am not getting on with running my business and getting the money in. I feel like I am using punting as an excuse not to get on with my work.

I've tried saying to myself that I'm not looking at AW or anything else on the web until I do x, y, z but I always seem to give in just before I complete z.

I need to use my computer to source items for work so its impossible to cut the internet out of my working time.  Part of me thinks I should give up punting altogether for a while (not sure if I could though).  The other problem is that if I did not hunt for the punt at work then I really could not do so at home as my wife is around and monitors my computer usage (a whole other story) and I would have very little time to hunt.

Just wondering if anyone has similar problem and any tips.

Oh well, better stop procrastinating and get on with some work ... mind you; probably be back every two minutes to check whether anyone has responded to this. :(

I sympathise, I think hunting for the punt is a lot more interesting than the work, but remember its the work that pays for the punting. If you **** up the work your punting will be ****ed anyway.

I have acquired a big hotlist, which you may not be able to do, so I can find out very quickly who's available on a given day. I don't do much if any repeat searching, which is what takes the time.

Can't help, but to add to your list how about time spent documenting your punts: keeping a journal with descriptions / photos / post punt philosophies; tracking statistics on girls seen / fees paid / duration; nationalities seen; performance records.

That should take up the rest of your day that you're currently wasting on work related activities and then you won't have any time left to procrastinate with.  If you do, take five minutes off from time to time to have a wank! ;)

I meet clients who tell me that apart from finding me/a lady to visit.... they do not look at anything else punter/wg rerelated on the net.

Not  sure if they are all being honest ... not that it matters to me a jot.... but what the op describes is obviously an obsession.

Wondering what you are missing if you do not log in and scour the pages is a real sign that it is taking over your waking hours.  What was once a pleasure and harmless pastime has become something less enjoyable but nevertheless very difficult to tone down or even contemplate stopping.

I can only suggest limiting yourself to eg.  half an hour in the morning and an hour later in the day.... because trying to give it up (internet browsing or punting) seems to be impossible to you.

Although I am a SP and therefore need to regularly read up on timewasters in my area and take a look around to see what is what I find every few months I get completely bored of forums and stay off them for a while.  Going back to them after a decent break means I can not possibly read all threads on all adult forums as I would never get up off my chair.  It puts it in perspective for me.... I pick a few mildly interesting looking threads and scan through them.

Not having a dig here but there are some members of certain  :unsure:  boards who contribute to just about every thread..... I could not bring myself to do that.

If you are in a workplace and run the risk of being seen "looking" on the net.... it must create more of an urge if you are watching the clock to see when it is next safe to click those buttons.

At my work place (in call flat) my laptop is permanently switched on as long as I am here so I can dip in and out of the boards/websites without worrying about being caught out.

I see from your profile that you've been on Pnet for a little over three years so I assume that you have been active for at least that time. I'm assuming that your procrastinating only started fairly recently because if not you should have gone out of business long ago. If I'm correct then is there something that you can pinpoint as the catalyst for your increased activity in all the areas that you have stated?

What's your turnover (:D) in ladies and has that significantly changed? Changes at work? Changes at home? Any significant age milestones? Health issues?

The answer might be simple and so obvious that you've haven't seen it and realised. The solution might also be simple once you know the reason for your procrastination.

Enzio- I can relate to your issue, in addition to what you broadly outline I scour punting forums throughout the anglosphere!

You already know the answer, you're just not admitting it to yourself- everything is fine in moderation but you need to take a break- even if it's just for say three days so you know it's possible*!

After that, prioritize your work & don't come on here til it's done. Also as mentioned above, limit your 'punting-adventure' time.

There are scores of online forumes dealing with addictive behaviour- very best of luck!

* In all seriousness, if you can't stay away for a few days, consider connecting with a counsellor, the area of punting/sex/porn/ general internet addition is growing as an offered therapy area.

I do the same.

Its odd, but this is the only factor which is a negative impact on my real life.

If it wasnt for this it would probably be porn or swinging sites. Having a perve on the internet is always going to be more fun than sorting out your admin, and its so accessible. Im even looking at adultwork now on my short train commute!
