Trafficked or not?

2 posts in this topic

A hypothetical-- suppose a WG from outside the EU is picked up by the police and has no right to work in the UK. Does she gain anything by asserting that she has been trafficked or forced--- e.g. is deportation likely to be delayed and is money less likely to be seized?

she'll still be liable for tax etc at the very least and plenty of girls are deported after being "rescued". She might extend her stay, but she'd have to prove there was a danger in her returning to her homeland to stay permanently. If she has money to seize then that would suggest she wasn't exactly being forced since slaves don't get paid (although she could have been trafficked since that's not the same thing as forced as we all know)
