Anyone who has ever wondered about Fake Profiles on AdultWork needs to read this!

They certainly do. Maybe someone should send this link to AW.

I remember reading about this last year.

He obviously wasn't cashing in his credits regularly, he's lucky the owners of the photos haven't taken action against him.

How would they find him?

How would they find him?

Would anyone care to tell me how "Mungus" could be found and served with a writ if someone wanted to take action against him?

It made my day to see that some crook has been turned over, and lost what, for most of us, is a considerable sum. :)

Yes, that link has been doing the rounds for a year or more now.  He was robbing the guys who had paid to see different girls pictures.  That could be any guy on here or the purple site.

Fraud is not something that should be rewarded.

Wow, he made quite a considerable sum of money doing this. Kudos to the purple site for stopping it!

Wow!

Is quite strange to see people (on that thread) being sympathetic and giving advice as if it's something perfectly OK and clever to do!

Whereas we are all reading it thinking what a twat and being pleased he has 'lost' the money!

I don't consider it his money in the first place, yet he acted as if he'd been robbed.

It serves him right for allowing £16K to accrue without creaming it off.  What a wanker.

First I had heard of this one.  As he explained (if it is true of course) each profile needed to accrue around 90 credits before they were cashed in.....

you can only cash in a minimum of 50 per profile but to do that you actually need around 90 as aw need their third first if you see what I mean.

Because he had so many fake profiles each one had not quite accumulated the 90 to start withdrawing.

Any old way......................... what we have is a large lump of KARMA   :)   and that can't be bad.

AW pulled a fast one there though,.... they may have been watching and waiting..... because they were the winners.... they got to run off with the till.

I assume AW will be returning the £16k to all those poor unfortunates that got scammed !

Even if AW were willing to do this and Ive never heard that they were ever willing to return anyone their money, what about the guys that are no longer members.  AW definitely were winners with this one.

It's looking like cobblers to me.First they say
"I've lost all the money that the profiles had earned through sale of "private image galleries" over the last couple of months. I'm now highly suspicious of AdultWork as I can't for tthe life of me figure out how they managed to suss out all these fake profiles (around 400 in total)"
Then when asked why they didnt cash out earlier
"Guys the reason I didn't cash out was because each individual profile needs to have a minimum of £50 clear credit before you cash out, and because adult work take one third of your balance as a fee, the real sum you need in each account is closer to £90,"
More like someone with a grudge towards AW trying to get the site messed up

I had my doubts too that this was a genuine tale.  We shall never know as the invisibles who run AW are well hidden at the back of their cave and although they may walk among us we will never know them as humans.

Agreed! The money (aka "credits") came from the punters who paid to leer at "private galleries" - perhaps they got value, if the pictures, wherever the schyster got them from, were good enough wank-material. If, on the other hand they were, as he suggests, screen-grabs of unknown russian bints, then, just perhaps, ripped off punters used AW's complaints system, and it worked?

Well guys now that he has shared his woes on that forum you can expect a huge increase in the number of fake profiles as some of the posters on there have said thanks for the tip x

If the guy actually botheres to email the 'no reply" email address for aw that you get your emails from then after a couple of attempts you actually get a human response and a reason why you lost your profile. All he has to do is think outside the email box like I did. I got to the bottom of my problem by doing exactly the above yet via their site its all automated x

I feel like joining up there and directing him to the aw forum, would love to see the response he gets for his admissions on there.

A thief is a thief end of, in fact I'd go further than that and say he's a pimp, how dare he try to make money off the back of these girls like this.  This guy is definitely one and if true deserves what he got.  He stole photographs that were not his to steal.  He falsely tried to pas them off as his own and selling them as such, therefore deceiving those that paid to view them and stealing their money.  I hope he had many wasted hours putting this stuff up and never gets a flaming penny.

He mentions the site being a rip of and genuine escorts losing money, having profiles pulled and money withheld, he also mentions safe so he must have some knowledge of the scene.  But what he doesn't seem to be able to grasp is that its because these rip off merchants like him AW behave like this in the first place.  Its his fault and others like him that cause these problems for the girls so he should be ashamed of himself, not putting himself on a pedestal like that.

Anyway he's thick if he can't work out how he got caught out.  AW is on the ball (especially now).  I put a picture on a blog only last week that I'd lifted off one of my own sites (albeit a genuine pic that I had a right to lift, was just being too lazy to look for the original), put it through my own software the same way he did too, but AW still picked up on it and removed it, which meant I had to go searching for the original in my backfiles and replace it that way.  I knew the rules and should have thought on.

What with this and that site mentioning gifting, I don't envy girls currently working, the recession seems to be really bringing the scum out of the gutter now doesn't it?

Absolutely right.  Black Hat manipulates a site's search rankings by employing techniques disapproved of by Google.
