Tracking Apps On Phone

7 posts in this topic

Has anybody been caught out being in the wrong place by a tracking app? My OH probably couldn't do it but she only have to ask my son and he'd enjoy the challenge!!

Not got a smart phone.

And when I go on a punt normal phone is turned off, and punter phone turned on.

I'd argue that anybody who constantly uses same phone, and constantly leaves it on, is (slightly) increasing their risks of being found out.

I thought with the tracking app both parties had to agree to it?

Nope android phones have location history that can easily be looked at via the handset or logging into Google.com

There is an easy way round this if turning it off will in turn raise suspicion

You can specify a location for it to report so you could select that meeting venue etc when really you are the otherside of town

Just don't forget to re-enable location auto reporting afterwards

If you need more in depth instructions let me know

Also be aware if new tracking software that does not show up as an app anywhere in the phone and only shows in the Google play store updates page if anyone has a suspicious partner it records locations, calls and text and emails

I have an iPhone and apart from the fact my other half doesn't know my iTunes password I also have "Find my iPhone" disabled. OK, if lose it I won't be able to locate it but I'd rather that than be trackable.
