Poo In The Pan

Not the title I meant as it's related to seeing blood in the pan:

This isn't sex related, one way traffic in my case: if you have blood in your stools, should you always go to the doctor or if it goes away can you avoid it?

go see the doctor, it could just be bleeding piles, could be nothing. But always best to get it checked out.

You should see your Dr immediately and without hesitation. If your surgery doesn't operate any same day appointments you should get a priority appointment and stand your ground with reception.

As Maz said, it may be bleeding piles but it's impossible for any of us to advise better than see your GP asap.

It's always best to be safe than sorry.  As the others have said it could be just bleeding piles, but it's best to get checked sooner rather than later.

Although it's probably just piles or something benign, stool blood can be an indication of ColoRectal Cancer- go see the doc asap! Most likely you'll be fine but dont procrastinate on this one! best of luck.

On a lighter note- upon first glance at thread title I assumed this was about something else.... about 2 yrs back this picture went viral over here in US punting circles- it's from an ad from 'BackPage', which is used across America by advertising Escorts ;)

Not to alarm you but my dad had blood in his stools and one day he fainted. We had to take him to the emergency ward passed out. Seems like he had a undetected intestinal ulcer and been having a small internal hemorrhage for a couple of weeks causing him to pass out due to his tension/blood pressure being extremely low. Had this happened while he was alone he wouldn't have made it.

So yes, it could be nothing (hemorrhoids) but it could be something serious so you should have it checked out inmediately.

Unless you have eaten beetroot very recently, a visit to the GP is a good idea.

I had, I did, and can laugh about it now but those cameras aren't as unobtrusive as they might lead you to believe....

Been there, done that.

Some years ago I saw a fairly large quantity of obviously fresh blood in the pan. Made immediate appointment to see GP. One greasy latex gloved finger up the bum later "you have an internal polyp that split, nothing to worry about, just avoid getting constipated".  Many years later and it's caused no problems other than an occasional splosh of blood in the pan.

Two years ago I found the good old lump in the bollock while showering. Was at the GPs two days later and being scanned at hospital a week later. It was a varicose vein and again, nothing to worry about.

See your doctor. People die from being afraid to find out what it is.

I've had blood in my shit on occasion (such as yesterday) for the past three years.

I went to a doctor specialising in arses (there's also a story of him cheating on his wife with the nurse). He shoved some metal thing up my arse and looked inside. He told me that I'm going to walk like John Wayne after this.. Then he drew a picture of what's going on inside my arse, apparently some polyps probably even born with but nothing serious but I may have blood in my shit for the rest of my life. At least it's not arse cancer.
