"Let go" from work after being spotted?

52 posts in this topic

I have paid for sex for a decade or so. So far I've not been in any trouble as a result.

One occasionally hears about wives and partners finding out what's been going on. Occasionally you hear about some high-profile person getting into trouble.

What I rarely hear about is people in everyday office jobs getting "let go" or fired because they were seen with a working girl. Maybe not so likely to happen here (how would they know?), but for people who go to places like Pattaya (Thailand) where it takes place much more openly and in a place where regular tourists and punters mix closely? How many curious mobile phone video cameras are there these days, recording goings-on that could provide plenty of prurient entertainment for work colleagues? Judging by the number of youtube videos of Pattaya, a lot. I suspect this goes on and doesn't get discussed much. Am I wrong? Has it happened to anybody you know?

After the recent change in the law, and the prevalence of mobile phone cameras, can this do anything but become more common? If something is against the law, or even perceived as being against the law, it's going to be a lot easier to use this as a reason to "let go" of people than it was before.

Tell me I'm wrong!

Having just returned from Prague and attending a conferency type thing with included various higher level management types from companies I may and do deal with & bearing in mind what pretty much everyone got up to I'd say it is likely that many bosses would be a tad hypocritical to sack an employee for seeing a WG. :D;)

What recent change in the law? Ive been on a punt so I think I missed this? Its not illegal to pay for time and companionship.

If I was caught Im doubtful they would let me go from work.

Im a single guy, work hard and long hours FOR them. I think theyd pity me if Ive had to resort to paying for time and companionship because all my spare time is spent getting stuff done for them and keeping THEM in employment during a resession.

And anyway, why would they be spying on me in my private life? Im not drug dealing, drink driving, committing rape or mass murder. Why would they fire me?

Anyway, if they all found out that I have I'll show them pics of some of the girls Ive been with. I think they'll end up getting jealous and agree it was worth it! :D

Did I miss the moment of the global epiphany? When did everybody stop being hypocritical?

That fails the "giggle test", unfortunately.

Sounds like you're a valued employee, Overworked - good for you. Some of us are just cogs in the great wheel :(

Possible reasons include: Because they feel pressured by self-righteous employees. Because they believe that it will cause tension, reducing efficiency and risking other members of staff leaving. Because they are assholes. Because they think it is the right thing to do for religious or moral reasons. Because their husband had an affair and they have a chip on their shoulder. Because they are worried about their own or their company's reputation. Plenty of reasons, I'm afraid - even if none apply to you.

Anyway, if they all found out that I have I'll show them pics of some of the girls Ive been with. I think they'll end up getting jealous and agree it was worth it! :D

I showed a couple of mates photos of girls I have visited. Their reaction was different to what I expected: one made no comment, the other seemed disinterested but asked, "What was she like?"

I wouldn't want work colleagues to find out what I do as a hobby because I would be labelled as "The guy that shags whores". Most people's perception is formed from what they see/read in the media. Personally, I think we are the lucky ones - we have our cake and eat it, while they have their cake and starve.

Unless you were seen to have 'brought the company into disrepute' (a stance which would have to be defensible before an Employment Appeals Tribunal) it's hard to see what grounds they would have to dismiss. If they don't tick every box these days the dismissal is automatically "unfair".

I am immensely proud of my work reputation - as the man who shags whores. I've fought long and hard for this accolade. It hasn't seemingly dented my popularity either.

Of all the emotions I have about my hobby, pride is not one of them.

Yes. Until everyone thinks like us, and I don't feel the need to be secretive, then yes.

One or two guys in my work know the I use escorts, working girls on occassions, and they dont see any problem

One of my brothers knows, and he understnads why I use them

We all been to lap dancing clubs, which to me dosent come far of from sex

Put like this, the two males in my work place give there wives housekeeping, I dont need to give girl friend or wife housekeeping as I dont have one. I always consider the time spent with an escort is well worth the money, and as I am getting older, the sex part is slowly disappearing, its now becomming a campany thing

Shame is usually an emotion felt when caught. Many conseal their activities as it does not nor will never sit well with the wife. The social stigma would be low on the list. If one of your emotions is shame as opposed to guilt it may suggest your feelings towards prostitutes and those that use them would be similar to those you feel you need to be secretive to/from.

Lou, you are a sparkling diamond in a world of quartz. I'd like to unzip my trousers and squirt my shame all over your exquisite tits. x

I can relate to that, if not profit also.

Shame on you for not making it happen:D

Your profile does not link to your website. I feel like a rudderless boat - adrift at sea - not knowing which direction to take. Shame on you for causing me such deliberate consternation. :D

Don't want anyone from work to know because it's none of their damn business, and I wouldn't want anyone else at work using it 'against' me with any prejudiced higher-ups.

Don't care who sees me doing what wherever, so long as they don't know me and they aren't in a position to call the cops. In fact, I rather enjoy 'showing off' or being with a girl who enjoys it.

Lou baby, there are more people to consider than just the wife. You may boast about this to a group of like-minded mates over a beer and you may also tell your lusty tales to your work colleagues when the mood is or seems right. But what they laugh with one day, they can surely hold against you when it's convenient to do so. And yes shame is the aim of the game.

Best policy is to keep things to oneself.

I have to admit surprise that guys want to brag to their mates they've paid for sex.

As a punter for 8 years, I have never alluded to the fact to any friend or anyone at work, so it remains "my own skeleton in the cupboard", as I have learnt to handle it. I never visit parlours so cant be compromised by being seen going in, coming out or inside by other punters, and only chose hotels where it's easy to get a girl in, and that I genuinely need to book for work. That way, I am not compromised.

In short, keep it simple, keep it private.

I do not doubt you lover boy or what your saying. My post came about from the opposite of pride = shame

Shame is usually brought about when deep thought is committed to an action or set of actions. Rarely brought on by ones self, ie it has to be promoted or set in motion. A close call or indeed getting caught or worst.

For you to feel shame for what you do "pay for sex" "fuck whores" etc its because somewhere inside you, you feel the same about prostitution as those that you think might judge you do.

So your shame is multiplied because you knowingly have been shameful.

Wow what a breeding place for guilt, the eater of the human soul.

what a tight rope you must tread just to get to the rollacoaster or turmoil.

Happy punting:D:D

Yes, an odd thing to brag about - one worse than boasting that you advertise in lonely hearts columns.

If I was pulling stunning birds left right and centre in cafes and laying them for free - now that would be worth boasting about.
