What Do Wgs Do After They Retire?

128 posts in this topic

Obviously they all don't do the same thing, but I was wondering what they did for work after they had decided to leave their escorting careers behind.

What have the WGs you have known done?

Did they find "normal" work boring? I only ask as I've met a great many WGs who are intelligent, well-spoken and often bi or trilingual, as well as being excellent amateur psychoanalysts!

I sincerely hope that when the time comes they can find success and fulfillment in other fields of work, or find happiness in settling down and having kids.

Does that mean you don't consider the possibility that they are happy here and want to be part of the industry till they retire?

Or that a life in this industry is not as worthwhile as those in "normal" jobs, or being mothers?

No I didn't mean any of that Autumn. I'm sorry if you inferred that from what I wrote.

I've met plenty of WGs who are happy in their line of work. What I was actually curious about was if they could find the same level of satisfaction or fun in other professions, or in motherhood, although of course some of them are already mothers.

I seem to have hit a nerve with you.

The question, to me at least, doesn't really make much sense. Sex workers aren't a homogeneous group but made up from the general population therefore when 'they' retire they'll pursue their passions whether that be a career they've been studying for whilst escorting, a family, a 9 to 5 life lifestyle ad infinitum.

In an ideal world a retired escort could impart her experience to girls wanting to start in the profession as many have run their own business, dealt with the awkward squad and so on.  Somehow  I doubt many colleges would be unlikely to offer such courses. But when you think of it input on this forum by many WG's is akin to a running a correspondence course.

Which is why I wrote "Obviously they all don't do the same thing" and asked for specific case studies when I asked "What have the WGs you have known done?"

I wasn't asking for generalised answers, more stories of what WGs you have known have done next.

Go back to stacking shelves at Tesco.

The more talented ones move on into cashier positions.

Errm left the industry well behind. Sorry for being facetious it's just that the sex workers I know who've retired probably wouldn't appreciate me (even anonymously) telling the whole of PN about their new business specialising in 'x', or their new job working in a certain field.

You haven't hit a nerve hon, I asked you if that was what you meant, I didn't insinuate, that, that, was what I inferred, Hence the question mark.

I know 2 who are Nurses, one is studying to be a midwife, 2 are in their last year at uni. 3 who became accountants.

1 who is a lawyer, 1 is a doctor, 1 opened a dog grooming parlour.

Several who did porn/glamour.

2 who barmaid, 1 who is a stay at home mommy.

and a dozen or so who found sugar daddies and disappeared never to be heard from again.

Without wishing to re-open the friendship debate I've made what I would call four friendships out of this hobby and two have subsequently retired.

Of these one was a so called agency star who actually didn't want to continue despite all outward appearances to the contrary. She subsequently moved around Europe, has been unable to find any work consistently, currently lives outside her own country and outside the UK and is unemployed. Quite a sad story.

By a strange quirk of fate the other actually comes from the same small town (they don't know each other), is now back there and has started a small business. She was only here for a relatively short time and left having hit her financial goals. A very switched on girl.

Both of the other two have plans to start up businesses here that are unrelated to punting once the time is right. One is currently doing the related qualifications.

By no means representative but perhaps a small insight in the direction the OP desired.

Very interesting! I had assumed a lot would have be professionals or opened their own businesses. I had not considered the sugar-daddy path.

This is what I fear for some girls - as you say very sad indeed.

I'd hope the clever ones would save for later while they can make decent money.  However it cant be easy with the shite interest rates from the banks.

Unless they use the money to study, or start a business, they tend to go back to whatever area of life they were already in, care worker, nurse etc. WGS can easily explain gaps in employment history by saying they were looking after their kids or parent . For the majority its gap year employment, or done in tandem with another job.

I was wondering about the gaps in employment history. That makes a lot of sense, thanks.

I imagine there's a large number who work their early 20s to fund a certain goal (e.g course/degree etc..) and who stop once that goal is attained.

It is a cereal where grannies are locked away in a factory and spend hours and hours knitting away to ensure that they are perfect :P

I know that the OP was originally about examples of what former WG's are doing but it made me think about successful ladies and not so successful ladies.

There must be indie WG's who manage to just make ends meet so to speak. Then there must be indie WG's who are very successful. The ones who are successful, who may not be any better physically than the other ladies, will have learned how to present themselves to prospective clients; how to advertise themselves to their chosen market; learned some accountancy skills; have spent some income on the necessary accessories to their business; have not been frivolous in their spendin; have saved and invested the rest of their money. These and other skills prepare them for another successful career whether it be employed or self-employed.

In being successful as a WG surely it would also mean self confidence and self belief. Useful assets in whatever future career path is taken.
