Hi members,

Maybe it is a stupid question but as foreigner, I am a bit lost: what is the difference between brothel and parlour?

Thank you!

None really. In a parlour there may be the pretence of a "massage" etc but in essence they are the same thing.

Another question then:

Are they legal or not? Wondering how safe for punters are these premises

It's illegal to run a brothel. This includes not only the owners, but also the 'maids'/'receptionists'.

It is not however, illegal to visit a parlour, or to work in a parlour-- UNLESS you see a girl who is either here illegally, or is underage. In which case you'll be in for a very bad time if it gets raided.

If you read through this forum you will see that there are plenty of sexual encounters in such places every day. If there was a significant risk to the punters  the volume of punts would be much smaller.

There are risks involved in crossing the road.

In punting, as in crossing the road,  just use your common sense, follow the lead given on here by more experienced punters and you will not go far wrong

Good luck.

Brothel's are illegal - where a brothel is any residence where more than girl is working.  In this day and age the police usually know where the brothel's are and are unlikely to interfere unless there is some kind of crime committed or suspected. If you want to be super safe, only go and see independents who work on their own.
